Same exact thing just happened to me. I used my call blocker to block the number.

just got the call but they called my googlevoice number and I keep it on "do not disturb" therefore all calls go direct to visual vmail. Anytime I order anything from anywhere or someone outside of friends and family needs my number I give that one. I am not sure who or what they want or are but I hate that sorry companies can harass people and get away with it.

After some digging, here is what I found. I actually spoke to someone named Valerie and she gave me a call back number of 415-349-7737. She claimed to be calling from Greenville, SC about a Discover card debt from 2000. The funny thing is, I have never had a Discover card! Using Poynt, I found this number is connected to someone named Barry Lebendig in Foster City, Ca. I called the number back and Valerie answered. I asked for Barry and Valerie stammered, saying she did not know who Barry is and when I asked about Foster City, Ca, she said she would need to call me back. Very odd conversation!

Just got the same call saying that my # was an emergency contact # and it was urgent I call. I was already on the computer so I type it in and found it's a bulls#@t #. Thanks,

Yep "Mr. King" just called me as well saying we needed to call him back asap, that it was very urgent...I didn't answer it, was putting my kids down for a nap. I started to call back, but decided I should look it up first to see who it was. Glad I did! Reading other past comments looks like it might be some type of debt collection or something...yeah whatever...even if I did owe someone money, not gonna give info over the phone or anything else...

I will not answer phone again. Cancelled all phones. There you will have to send a smoke signal now!

Same... he sounded sooo~ urgent, but from experience if it *is* really important they at least say your name and/or tell you their company name or what they're calling about. Thus why i always look up these numbers before calling back ;p

Funny the link you pointed out took me to Encore Capitol Group. I received a couple of calls already but my phone has call blocking so I'll continue blocking I know the statutes of limitation has run way over the deadline for collection and and there is no money owed to them after the original charge off .

Recieved a voicemail message, caller ID shows 405-555-0199 but the caller asked me to call her back at 888-912-7923, says that they have my # as a contact # and it's urgent that I call her back.
