Glad I found this post. I got a voice mail on my cell. The guy (southern accent, could be an Okie) says "888-420-7233. Again our number is 888-420-7233. It's important you return this call as soon as possible." Doesn't say anything about what the concern is. I'll be ignoring.
Received a call today from (405)555-0199, OK,USA. A man, who ID himself as Mr Langley, left message for me to call 1(888)847-1910 with the same claim of a matter of importance, and the need 4 me to call today. I was sckeptic because the caller did not identified what company he represented, nor what the "important matter" was about. I decided to check the call back number before I would call. I'm so glad I did. I will not call these scum bags, and hope everyone who gets call from them also checks before deciding to call back. Thanks everyone who posted their experiences with these jerks.
hey Mr Lanley pay your child support and maybe you won't have to work at this [***] hole

hey I got a call from this number 405-555-0199 and on the caller ID it said Dir Asst OK and they left a message for me to call them back. Said its very important. Here is the number tey left for all of you out there getting calls from that number about. 1-888-847-1910. Hope this helps.
I guess Mr Langley has been busy making the same "RECORDED CALL" to people. I never call a number back if there is a question to whom they are looking for. Mr. Langley never said whom he was looking for ... except call 888-847-1910 speak to an officer. What for? Phone number was from DIR ASST OK (405) 555-0199
Same thing as DFW. A Mr. Langley said it was very important to call back. I picked up while he was still talking but it was a recording. I called back and was told my call was "very important" but I didn't stay on the line very long before I gave up. I looked at the call history on my phone and saw they had also called 5 days ago. There isn't anything wrong with my credit so I wonder why they call me. There was a deadbeat who lived at my address over 12 years ago before I bought our house. They use the reverse address listing to get my phone number which I have had for over 20 years. I moved my phone number with me since I moved a mere 3 miles from my other house. I have had many calls looking for a Mike Litos--a man I never met. I've gotten mail for him which I return to sender. I talk to the debt collectors when they call and tell them he moved and I don't know him. All is quiet for a few months then a new debt collector gets the job and then it starts all over again. How can I stop this?
Called once. "This is Mr. Lawrence... It is extremely important." Yeh, to them, but not to me. Any legitimate business person would give first and last name, the company they are with, the nature of their business. I take it this is about a debt, but probably a relative's. Whichever, the best rule is to NEVER talk to a bill collector except the original owner of the debt. Debts are sold times over, and people get nastier every time. It's the nature of their business to intimidate. Voice mail. Or click!
