Really want these calls from various area codes to go away. They seem to come when we have a credit card balance. They need to be stopped.

They are still calling. Got a call on 2/9/2012 and when I answered got the same spiel about lowering my interest rates. Computer voice said to press 1 to lower rates and 2 to remove from call list. I did not press anything, just held on and a person came on the line. I hung up. So if the FTC has shut them down, why are they still calling?

A credit card company does not want to lower your rate. Think of the fees associated with late payments, over the credit limit expenses, etc. They want to raise your rate at the slightest inkling that you will default on your obligations. The only way to lower your rate is by you taking charge of the situation, not the other way around.

Better yet answer the phone and give them your congressional rep's phone number, saying they asked for help with their credit. Then something WILL be done.

I've been getting calls from Credit Services, know it's them because of "Caller ID" , however, I do not answer such calls. I know, have been in business for many years that someone that has such a name as "Credit Services" calls I know not to answer, I just let the phone ring. They use robo-calling and dial every number they program into their computer and can make a good bit of money by cheating those than answer. Never give anyone any card name or card number. Ask them for their name and number and you will call them back. If they give it to you, check them out first as 99% of those that call you like this are crooks, period.

This is one of the well known scams to get your credit info. They are based out of India. I can't list the zillion of big comanpies and banks that have been hacked in 2011/2012, but supposedly this is where they are getting their info from, and it IS a scam! Some off the top of my head: these people got hacked last year: Charter One Bank, Office Depot, Best Buy, Verisign security verifiers for internet sites, on and on and on. This scam has been in the news, specifically. I'm sorry I don't have links, etc, I'm so POd right now I just wanted to put this up while I remember. These people have called 19 times in the last 3 days, and on my cell phone Relentlessly!!! for three months. Total of 252 times, and it is unlisted and on Do Not Call list as is my house phone. They must leave me 3 messages a day on my cell phone. I have no way to block the # (AT & T sucks) It is shameful to me that our government doesn't hold these people to the same standards as 'real' companies that have insiders plot or help to steal.

Wanted me to sign up for insurance.Autodialer with automated message.Isn't this illegal? I am on the do not call list - what is the recourse?

No message - no listing - I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST - what a crock !
