We have been getting calls from this number quite frequently. When I see the number appear on caller ID, I don't even bother to answer. Once when I did answer some clown in a strong foreign accent asked to speak to so and so. When I asked him to identify himself, he hung up.
They call ALL the time. When I have the time I have fun with them because this one's totally, in your face, illegal. They aren't gonna catch these folks but they robocall sequentially. They have NO idea WHO you are or your name or number. It's hard to keep 'em on the line because, since they're scum. they'll just dump the call. You have to sound interested but a little gullible/stupid/slow. "How do you spell that?" "Let me find my credit card. No, I'm sorry, that's my library card number!" "Did I see you on TV?" I once had a girl on the line and wasted five whole minutes of her time! That's the win. THAT'S what they can't afford. Google "credit card number generator" and have some ready. Have FUN and waste their time, Get all the stupid details. "Well, now, how would I do THAT. Interesting." THEY can't afford much of THAT.
Just received the same call number with an automated lady saying they wanted to lower the interest rate on a credit card. Definitely scam as I don't have a credit card.I'm also reporting this number. 407-480-9999 comes up as Cell Phone in Florida.
Pursuant to (foolishly) responding to their "Press 3 to discontinue these 'charge card' lower your interest percentate" by actually pressing the "3" - I shortly received a call from 715 000 0000 - which afforded no voice...just a nuisance call, apparently.
Got a call twice this morning the only family I have in flordia are my grandparents I was scared I kept missing the call maybe it was them, I couldnt remember their number so I xalled back multiple times eachtime it said the nunber was disconected I knew at that poinr it wasnt them about five minutes later my friwnd got a call on her cell phone from a texas number she answer and we did, this cite before with thar number was there too
You should report it anyway. They're not all over seas. there is a group here nearby using 216 numbers it's a local scam. Each report gets them closer because I have actually used some sites to identify the local cell phone owners. There are people who have multiple phones and run a new scam every week!
This is a phony company that keeps bothering me. There is a recording of a woman saying " this is Rachel from card member services and I want to lower your debt". I get phone calls at least twice a week. This is very annoying, since I have no debt and I am on Do not call list. One time I called back the number and I got a woman on the phone. When I told her to stop calling me or I will report them to the Attorney General's Office, she said "go ahead" and hung up on me. I wish someone can stop these crooks from harassing people.
