Received a call and caller ID saying Robert Kennedy, also. So tired of all the scam artists calling me. Credit card saying" this is last time to lower my interest rate on my credit card. Just quit calling me.
When I answered the phone, there was the following message, "This is Rachel from Card Services. Your credit card account has a problem. Please press the number 1 to contact us immediately.I did so, and a person name 'Jason' got on the line. I asked for his full name and the name of his company. He hung up immediately. The number on the caller ID was 407-660-9999, with the name Robert Kennedy. My attempt to redial this number and to use the *10# I received the message,'Unable to perform this activity with this number.
I'm on the do not call list for telemarkerters and they keep calling anyway. What can be done?
I have no idea who this is or why they keep calling. I have put this number on the US govt. "Do Not Call" list but it seems to have done no good.
These guys are telemarketers making illegal calls. They "spoof" the Caller ID information that we see in an effort to make it harder for them to be caught. They claim they can lower your credit card interest rates. They cannot. They are "phishing" for your personal information -- especially your credit card numbers. Tell them nothing, not even your name. Nada. Zero. Zilch. If you press a number to speak to a real person, they will only laugh at you and hang up. Some will even curse at you and will call you back more often. It may feel satisfying to blow a whistle into their eardrum, but you are only asking for trouble. Just don't speak to them in the first place. Some phones or phone companies will allow you to block numbers that are harassing you. If that doesn't work, you can should them to your phone's address book under SCAM or DO NOT ANSWER.And, last but certainly not least, immediately report ALL of these scam calls to www.donotcall.gov.
I am on National Do Not Call registry. When I informed caller of this, he hung up. I have received numerous calls of this nature and each time the caller is rude. I have contacted the authorities to try to put these people out of business.
Obviously I meant that "you can and should add them to your phone's address book under SCAM or DO NOT ANSWER."
