these "Card Member Services" a$$hats operate under the FTC radar. They ignore the Do Not Call list. Telling them that you are on it does no good. Telling them to remove you from their calling list does no good. Most of the time, they have faked the number that shows up on caller ID. Remember the guy that you end up talking to after pressing 1 is just someone making minimum wage in a sweatshop call center. The best defense is that if you have the bandwidth is to annoy the crap out of them enough so that they quit. I figure if the higher ups running this scam can't hire people to answer the phone they will eventually go out of business. I work for a company that has to test credit card transactions on our systems. I always give them our test credit card number, tell them everything they want to hear, give them all fake information. It usually takes them about 10 minutes to figure they have been duped but it's fun to scam the scammer.

Just got a call from them. I did not answer (as I never do with numbers I dont know). From what I read here, they are definitely spoofing their phone number to appear as a number that is out of service.

Have had several hang-up calls from these scumbags. No message. When I did answer, nobody responded on the other end. From Orlando, FL area.

This is your typical Nigerian scammer calling you from a hotel room via cellphone. These people transfer calls to other members in the same hotel room. Most people would think they are transferring you to another department. Never give your financial info to these Nogerians.

Same credit card scam, they spoof numbers so nobody can find them is what I was told by do not call. How about a SEAL team, maybe they can find them. If I do answer I knock on something to start the dogs barking and hold the phone right next to them.

Got a call to low interest rates. Only option was to press 1. When he answered I told him I didn't want to be on their list he just hung up.

More than likely the number is an out going trunk only. It will not allow calls in. I have been getting calls from this number as well as a few others for several years with the same canned message. I agree that it would be better not to answer but I do receive ligit calls from that area as well.One of my favorites is to hit 1 and then when the person gets on the line whisper very softly so they have to turn up their volume or re-adjust their headset... THEN SCREAM INTO THE PHONE! Priceless!

I got a call from 407-702-0538 on my CELL PHONE at 5:48p Central on 2/27/12. I thought it was an automated message claiming to come from credit card svcs. They wanted to "lower" my monthly payments, etc. I hung up.

Rec'd a call on my cell phone of all things! I hate it when they use up my minutes this way. Not only that, but both my cell and my home #'s are on the No Call Registry, yet seems no one pays attention any longer! Seems I am paying for these companies to use up half my mins now with the cell. This has to stop!
