I recently registered my cell phone on the do not call list, and now I'm getting calls from solicitors.

I usually don't answer calls when I don't recognize the number but I've started a new procedure: That is go ahead and answer and immediately activate the 'Mute' feature, and just listen. Unless it's a recording you'll hear someone say 'Hello' about three times, then hang up. And while you're listening pay close attention to whatever you can hear in the background. Sometimes other attendants can be heard talking to other people which may be helpful if generating a complaint is in your plans. I'm on the famous 'Do Not Call' list and I always follow up with a complaint there for all the good that will do, but it makes me feel better. Caller ID displayed 'No Name'.

That's how they are getting cell #'s. If you have left your # with any company, your # is being sold. DON'T TRUST ANYBODY. It's a big old world full of scammers now and you have to be very careful.

The DO NOT CALL LIST may be a scam itself......What a creative way to get numbers to sell to scammers....HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Recieved a call from this number, they offered to lower my credit card rates. I asked which card they were going to lower, as I don't have any credit cards. They hung up on me.

How do these places get cell phone #'s, or should it be put, who is selling cell phone # lists?? Really??

Get this call at least 3 times a week.

Answered this call and pressed 1 to have them remove number as it is a business line and got hung up on. Said they were card services calling to lower interest rates.
