Chase will never ask for your account information if they call you. They've already got it, and only will verify the last four digits of the account number if they need to get into your account. The only reason they'll ask for your full account number is if you actively call them. Also, Chase will identify themselves immediately upon calling, and identify themselves in voicemail messages.
As I mentioned in another "reply"...unfortunately 29% is low...once they add the late fees on it is usuallya much higher interest rate.
they have a right to collect... they have a responsibility to be civil, and reasonable. OK, tow the corporate line, and stick to the letter of the contract, but don't treat me like a deadbeat just because I make a mistake, or because I fell on hard times... not reasonable. calling people stupid just because they are upset that someone is being unreasonable is inappropriate. Call once... leave a message, ask for a call back, wait a reasonable (and legal) amount of time, then call a couple of times, leave another message. BTW they DO give a sh*t because they want to continue to get your payment, including interest, rather than a settlement or even a payoff. They are in it for profit... how simple is THAT...
How about you recognize that some people do want to ork. I'm self-employed used to making agreat income and my bills are not that high-not even $1500 a month. Problem is, being on commission, sometimes I have made the sale, but people put their "start date" out into the future at which time I get paid.Furthermore I spend 3 days a month doing "compliance" which brings me no income whatsover. This government is so effed up they make us do meaningless paperwork. With the money from those 3 days a month I could probably pay my bills on time. And I went from making $5000 a month. I thought by having low requirements to live (a low budget) I would be OK but I'm not. And there are others like me.
My comment is typical of what I have read here. However, I'm getting calls before the due date of the payment.
Here's a thought...pay your damn bill! It's a business! It's a CREDIT CARD-not a gimme free money I never have to pay back card. If someone owed you money and was late, you'd be looking to contact them too! Stop acting like victims. You're all big boys and girls. Simple solution...AGAIN in case you are slow and missed it...PAY YOUR BILL!!! Send them letters all you want. Tell them not to contact you unless blah blah blah. When you suddenly can't use your card or your account is closed, then expect the same response...don't bug THEM until you pay! Goes both ways. And dont whine and wonder why you can't get approved to buy a home later down the line. And even if you do, you have to pay a MORTGAGE...you know...another bill! You think they'll play nice if you're late on that bill? No your [***] will just default on your loan. It's such a harsh world and I know it's a tough concept to grasp, but you are expected to take care of responsibilities so suck it up and expect to be held accountable!
They call all hours of the day, week-end, last called Christmas Eve morning 8:30AM. They never leave a message either.
Want it to stop? It's simple really. Pay your bill! Try it, I DARE you. The calls will just stop. It's like magic!
Thank god for vibrate or silent? Why's that? Either you really racked up a good bill and their frequent calls get you off with your vibrating phone... Or maybe you just don't want to be embarrassed and people to know the debt collectors are hounding you? Don't want the hubby to know?
