call blocked this number today. They call everyday for a long time now. Irritating.

This is legitimate - They work with the American Red Cross - they are looking for donations of items or clothing and do "pick-ups" in your area - I actually donated clothing to them once and it is a legitimate Red Cross truck that comes and picks up the items.

That wasn't a Red Cross truck that picked up your donation. Merchandise Pick-up Service puts a Red Cross sign on a penske lease truck. They take those clothing donations to the Orlando location or the newly opened Tampa location to be shipped to Texas by rail. They own many many thrift stores in Texas. A guy by the name of Mike McClease owns this whole operation and makes Millions in the name of charity. A complete joke really. The Red Cross isn't exactly a name that rings chruch bells to begin with. A very small percentage of your donation actually goes to help people and NOTHING is given away to needy individuals.

I get three to four calls every day. I never answer the calls and they do NOT leave a message on the answering system.

They call almost every day. The phone rings only once and by the time I get to it there is no one on the line. The called ID shows "Merchandise Pic" with the 407-854-7180 phone number. To make it even more irritating, the calls usually come twice in rapid succession. I am on the federal "do not call list" but it does not seem to do an good.

Received several calls from this number (MERCHANDISE PIC) starting around the 8th of December2010 and still getting them. No message is left.

Block them or report them.

This organization is repeatedly calling my number which is on the national do not call list. Caller ID identifies a local Tampa number 813.881.1700.

In order to be taken of the list, you have to answer the phone. All you have to do is to ask them nicely, Please REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST. Yes it is that easy.

You are right but you are wrong. MPS calls on behalf of the American Red Cross. A portion of the sales of these donations go to the ARC. American Red Cross uses these funds to help people who lost thier houses and put them up in hotel or motel. If people need clothing ARC will give them a volcher to a department store for new clothing. It does take money to pay for overhead. A agreement is made between a charitable organization and MPS. You can call what ever charity is being called for and ask them how much of the proceeds go to them. It is no secret.
