I just missed a call from them and figured I'd look up the number to see who it was. After reading these responses, I'm just happy to hear that these people aren't the ones influencing any future decisions regarding the topic for whatever the survey was covering. With these snotty, ignorant, self-centered people out of the way who gasp at the thought of taking their time to help someone answer a few questions that influence what you will be exposed to in the future, perhaps some good results will come of it. By the way, most of your ideas for "getting back at them" will have absolutely no impact on them. Think you're the 1st person to come up with the idea (over 60+ years)? Thanks everyone! You'll be able to complain again when you don't like any of the media changes over the next few years also, like when you're favorite rock or oldies radio station suddenly changes to playing Mariachi, Trinidadian Calypso, and Haitian Kompa...because those listeners didn't get in a tussle about answering a few survey questions!
I have also had repeated calls from this # Arbitron Inc. & wish it would stop my # is registered with the DO NOT CALL.
I did the Arbitron Panel 2 years ago and did get paid with no problem. Now they keep calling me again. One guy sent me $10 in a fed-ex envelope for listening to him. I always tell them to take me off the list but they don't. They say I am randomly selected but what are the odds of me getting called so many times and other people I know never called once. Why can't I have those odds with contests where I win a prize? I have a non-published number and have registered on the national do not call list so it has nothing to do with that. I am going to tell them they have to send me money everytime they call from now on.
These people keep calling day and night. They called last night after 9:00 p.m. and this morning before 8:00 a.m.! I am tired of these calls........we are on the national and state do not call lists............and my husband is recovering from a stroke. I am furious! Caller ID says "Columbia MD".................they need to stop calling my house!
they have called us 3 times regarding a radio survey......we do not answer & they leave a message. We have been signed on DO NOT CALL for 2 years, but, it doesnt seem to matter.... they are still calling.
Did you even bother to read any of the 13 pages of posts on this company? You are being contacted by Arbitron Research a survey company, they are exempt from any and all "do not call lists". In less time than it took you to post this you could have sent an email to questions@arbitronresearch.com and requested to have your name and phone # removed from their call list just like a 100 other people have posted on here. I emailed them back in January and got a response back the next day advising that my telephone # would be removed within 12 hours and I have not received a call from them since. Why don't you give it a try and let us know how you make out. Best wishes for your husband.
I keep getting phone calls morning, noon, night from Arbitron with 410 area code for 1 week now. I finally picked up the call from Arbitron 4 days ago and told the gentleman that I was not interested and to remove me from their calling list as my number is an unpublished number. Well, I still have been receiving calls daily since then and just received one again at 9:00 p.m.? I picked up the phone and unfortunately, the woman from Arbitron got an earful from me. She started in with her script and I had to cut her off mid-sentence and said, excuse me, who are you looking for? She said head of the household. I said, so let me get this straight you are calling my home, but don't know who you are looking for and I would like to know how you got my number as it is unpublished and on the Do Not Call List. She then stated the call is selected randomly by a computer and since the call is not a "sales call" the do Not Call List does not apply to her company. Whoa, okay. I told that I asked Arbitron to remove me 4 days ago, and yet they still keep calling. I told her stop calling here and hung up. I decided I am going to use a Fog Horn can that I have left over from a sporting event. I am blowing their ears out everytime they call. That is the resolution to this problem
Listen people, this is what I did after getting all kinds of calls for people that don't live in my house or telemarketing calls, I went and bought a cordless phone system made by Panasonic that lets YOU BLOCK any phone number you enter into the phone. Now the phone rings only once and hangs up on the caller. Life is so much nicer now. Panasonic 6.0 digital. Very easy to use and understan. Bought it at Best Buy. The best purchase I ever made!!!!!!
