In searching for info about the hangups I've been getting from this number, I found this info on litigiousconsumer.com: "One of the things that telemarketers do to violate the TCPA is not providing you with their do not call rules. If you ask a telemarketer to stop calling you and to send a copy of their do not call rules and they don’t, you have the ability to sue them. It is a fairly simple process and if you go to your local small claims court and ask them the procedures they are usually very helpful. ....I have personally settled with telemarketers for over $25,000 in the last twelve months, using the telephone consumer protection act."Does anyone know if this is for real?

They call every day at least once and never leave a message. They are in fact a for-profit company since they take money from their non-profit clients and it is illegal for a for-profit company to call people on the federal do not call registry, which I am on. Very frustrating.

THANK YOU so much for this...They have been calling my house a minimum of twice a day for the past two weeks, and I had no idea who they were. Interesting that you mentioned they were calling you about a wildlife foundation you used to support, as the calls started happening after I made holiday donations to World Wildlife Fund. If that's how this started, I won't be supporting them any longer. Thank goodness for caller ID, but very annoying, nonetheless.

I allowed my answering machine to pick up the call, and even though my outgoing message clearly said to leave a message after the tone, the caller asked for Mr. or Mrs. --- by name and repated his request when he got no reply. Either he doesn't recognize an answering machine when he hears one or he thought we would pick up the phone just because he asked nicely.

Based on info posted previously, I went to their web site client list, ttp://www.pubintcom.com/clients.html, and found among their clients is WETA, a Washington, DC area public television station. I have contributed to them in the past, but no more. I intend to send the station an e-mail so advising them

Hmm. I just got a long silent message on my answering machine. And I was just about to go through my annual charitable contributions. If I can confirm which wildlife org contracted with them, I can eliminate them from my list and pick a different charity.
