They called my cell phone. Began with a recording, then switched to an open line with background noise, then disconnected.
Call from auto-dialer. No one on line when I picked up. After I said "hello" a couple times, someone came on just as I hung up.
They keep calling even after I asked to be put on their do-not-call list.Where did they get my number?I've had six calls from 412-622-7387 so far. No messages.
I have been getting calls from this number but have only noted calls for the present month. So far it has been on July 10, two on the 12th , one on the 16 & 24, and two more today the 26th. My phone rings with a different ring tone when it is a long distance call which makes me stop whatever I am doing and go to answer it since I have out of state relatives. When I see who is calling I let it go to my answering machine , but they never leave me a message. I wish they would find someone else to call. If there is a way to stop this I would really know.
I've confirmed that they are calling on behalf of the World Wildlife Fund. While the idiot who called me didn't identify myself to the answering machine, I heard another telemarketer in the background talking to someone else and she identified herself as calling on behalf of the WWF.
This number calls my cellphone frequently (I haven't been keeping track of it) but never leaves a message. Finally today I was by my phone when it called, so I picked it up. I just heard a lot of background noise, even after saying "hello?" a few times, no one replied. So, I pressed the # key over and over. I've heard that sometimes these numbers are automatically dialed by machines, so pressing the # key makes the machine think your phone number is invalid.
I called the Worlf Wildlife Fund on the phone (800-960-0993) and surprisingly got through to a human at 9pm Eastern time on a Friday. I just gave them a piece of my mind telling them what a stupid company they are using for their telemarketing and how they are getting a bad rep online as a result, not to mention pissing off their members.
I get phone calls from this number all the time; today I answered, and the caller immediately hung up without saying anything (is their job to just figure out if the number works?) I went to the website suggested and did not find a way to sign up for the opt-out list, so I just called the number back and received a voice mail message. I left the message that I do not want to receive calls from them. We'll see if it works.
