I had exact same story as you just described!!! Watch Out! This is scam phone call that they will try to get all your information. Do not trust anyone who you don't know! You're smart to tell him that you need to verify yourself! A bunch of crooks!!!
I got this call today. Immediately looked it up here and it sounds suspicious. I blocked the call from my cell.
This is a well known scam, they are asking people to send money. The number has been hijacked already.
My 3rd time getting this call, let it go to my voicemail cuz the number is not familiar.
Left a voice mail in Chinese, a woman's voice. Appears to be a scam from everyone else's experiences here. But still going on in late March 2018.
I received a call from 415.852.5900 saying that I need to pick up a document in Chinese. I thought it is a scam. just want to make sure that I didn't miss anything from the Chinese Embassy.
Called me two times in one minute. No voicemail left.
Scam is definitely still happening. May's response is basically what I got as well. Ignore and definitely a hijacked number.
I couldn't understand Chinese. I think she wanted to know if I wanted to take a wok.
Rec'd call from (415) 852-5900 Friday, Jan 26, 2018 @ 1:25pm. Voicemail left in Chinese. Sounded like a recording.

Scam. An attempt to get bank account information and then a request to transfer money to the scammer's account.

Got a text from “SpeedX” from (844) 866-3737 stating that my delivery is on its way. It’s not clear what that is. I’m just a person not a company. It stayed to verify my address. Nope. The url seemed legit but didn’t click on it. Reverse ... read more
