Hi I've been called from this number for several days in a row. However I did call the 416-630-1944 number, told him I'd been getting calls from 416- 630-2172 and said I'm on the no call list. He said they're legally allowed as telemarkets to do with newspapers to call, but once they're notified that you're on a no call list, they will take you off their database. So hopefully that was done. He was polite. I wonder what part of "I want to be on the no call list for all telemarketers" the CRTC doesn't understand. For me, this includes newspaper telemarketers as well.At any rate, don't be afraid to call this number back and ask to be removed from their call list. Or call 416-630-1944. I love this googling of annoyance call numbers that come up on call display...I think we make a difference sharing our experience and coming up with ways to address the problem together. Thanks all!

Got a call at 4:30pm on May 19th, 2009. No one there when I answered. Since I only receive calls from my wife and from my work place, I have activated my restrict calls feature. Only calls from my work place, my wife's cell phone and my home will get through. I hope that means text messages as well...

17 calls in 11 days a little much i think.Never any message on machine and display shows unknown name.Must be a pain in the butt dialer.I do not answer calls that do not show a name.

Hello,Thank you, I too have been bothered by this on going number.I come home every night from work and find it on my answering machinewithout any message. The read out on my phone only identifies it asfrom a newspaper, thank you for posting your info. regarding this number. I suppose the only way to get rid of it, is to put a callblock on it. I don't have a call block system at the moment, however,I may have to get that service put on my phone. I'm sure and everybodyelse agrees, although it is a minimum fee per month; why should we haveto spend money to get rid of annoying calls.Thx again for the further info.Susan

I got a message from this number a few times apparently it's the toronto star they are trying to sell, I live two hours from toronto I don't need their newspaper

Oh my god. this number calls me like 6 times a day!! i just called and left a message for them to remove my number. i hope it friggen works!

I guess these people bought the list from the Canadian DNCL... what a fiasco this has turned out to be. In addition to 416-630-2172, I also get calls from 416-630-9211.I have had at least eight of these calls this week. They are out of control.

This number has called me several times a day for months, it stopped for a while but has started again. Just called 416-630-6658 and asked to be removed. The guy who answered was really nice and said it would happen right away, here's hoping!

This number keeps calling me. All I do is pick it up & then just hang it up without answering. Thought this would stop it but it hasnt. Im sick of this # calling me.

was getting many calls from this # as well ,called the number you gave , first call was a voice mail so hung up and dialed again got a lady called Sylvia and said she would remove us from their list.... thank you...
