Blame the companies who stoop this low to try to get business. Blame the system that doesn't protect us from this these calls even if we put our names on a Do Not Call registry. Blame Bell Canada for not letting people screen more than 12 numbers on their Call Screen list (I just added this number to my Call Screen and now the list is full). ...But don't blame the people who make the calls -- no one takes this kind of job because they want to.

I just stuck up for call centre workers in a previous post, saying it wasn't their fault -- no one would take this kind of horrible job because they wanted to. It appears I was wrong -- SOME people who take telemarketing jobs (you, for example) apparently enjoy the power trip they get from annoying people day and night.

Instead of calling the guy names for trying any means he can think of to get you to stop calling, how about giving people some better ideas on how to defend ourselves from your endless harassment?

Did their calls stop after you were told you would never be called again? I'm just curious. People seem to be reporting mixed results on this here.

I'm always civil to sales people who call me, even if all I say is "I'm not interested, thanks" and hang up. The problem is that even though there's apparently a law saying companies have to take you off their list if you tell them to, people keep getting calls from these same companies. I once called a telemarketing company to get taken off their list and the guy I spoke to acted like a two-year-old -- kept laughing at me and interrupting me every few seconds as I was giving him the number. The calls did NOT stop. They don't even always stop when you deal with someone who pretends to act like an adult. What's the solution?

Annoying call without message from 416-630-2172 again and again.

Called 4166302172 -answered as "Newspaper Call Centre" but mailbox is full. Called 4166306658 - answered as "Thank you for calling Newspaper Call Centre, if you are interested in a subscription, please leave your number at the tone"Sent email to 'VPConsumerMarketing@thestar.ca'; 'circmail@thestar.ca'; 'privacy@thestar.ca' to opt0out of all marketing offers.

Keep getting calls from this number at least twice a day for the last two weeks. If they really are a newspaper call centre, then why doesn't this number correspond with The Toronto Sun, Toronto Star, National Post? Something sure smells fishy here.

Please will you stop calling at inconvenience times and hanging up!
