You are right... however, each state and in some cases each city or county government has its own policy towards making police reports regarding civil issues. I would call the police (not by 911) and request to TTO (talk to officer) and find out your rights.
There are services that will show your number even if the phone company blocks it for you.Payphones (most of which can't take incoming calls) using a prepaid phone card is the only way to go.
I just got a call from a number I did not recognize so I did not answer it and my phone buzzed there was a message. I checked it and it was a text message telling me to call 877 371-3188 so I called from my office land line and it says it is ER Solutions.
This number calls my cell phone and does not leave a message and I have no clue who it is. I wish they would stop calling!
even if they do find out im calling, which i dont care if they do and they decide they want to call me back im still not gonna answer! the only way they will get a hold of me is coming to my door and knocking and that is if i decide i want to open it.
Maggie... nice post!!!Never pay ANY money since this will reset the statute of limitation. It will also provide 'them' with proof that you acknowledge the fact that you owe a debt. Once the original creditor writes off (charges off) the debt, it is purchased by collection agencies and in some cases more than once. (A collection agency can buy and then sell to another agency.)
They are calling me too several times a day 7 days a week. I have tried to answer at work but its a recording & I can't hold for 20 minutes. It is medical collections & am paying $5 or $10 a month as I am on STD for chemo treatment and have no mony! Insurance has paid 80-100% of these charges so it's not like they are getting stiffed!
