this caller is threatening

everytime they call my phone its automative sytem asking for a johnny with a british accent. and i push the 1 button to speak to a rep and then it says sorry we cant find no one by that name. The annoying part is that they countinue to call. It is soo frustrating!!!

Does the Do-Not-Call list help in this situation?

These people started calling calling me and i don't even have a major credit card so I don't even know how they got my number. What I do have is a 19 year old son who is a comedian not litterly but he gets his deep voice on the phone and says.... Hellooo umm can I help you and then he will start saying randum funny stuff in his deep voice and I just sit here and laugh my [***] off.. take the call and end up laughing at these people and go on with your day. I know the call's are annoying but you can turn it into a possitive outcome for yourself. just by not letting them get to you. google funny replys to annoying telephone calls and have yourself a good laugh and fun with these idiots.It works. Annoy them back.

I just returned their call 5 minutes ago after trying for the past 30 minutes. After dialing the number press "3" # to be directed to a live person ( The first 3 times I was sent to a recording) A person named Melissa answered and I explained that I didn't appreciate these calls from this number. She asked for my number and the mentioned who they were trying to reach. I would neither confirm or deny if the person lived at my house, I just asked that the phone call cease. She then began to raise her voice and get really nasty with me. She was extremely upset that I would not answer whether or not the person lived here. I then asked her if she would mind if I recorded the conversation which i don't have to ask in SC. Her response was immediate and very telling.."Haveagoodday" and then she hung up.

I get phone calls from this number at least 8 times a day. I noticed that they started calling from different phone numbers when I would send them to voicemail because they leave the same voice mail, its some lady with an English accent. the other numbers they call from are (214) 705-2410, 888-505-0035, 805)210-3122 and 248)816-7900 they are getting extremely anoying and even call on Sundays till past 8pm.

Got a call from this company asking if I was associated with a company I used to work for that went bankrupt. What's up with that??? I certainly, as an ex-employee, don't owe them any money!!!

I called this number back and I got through by useing their 4digit exstention number 3215 and it worked then I lied about who I was Until I found out who they were and what I wanted. It is a debt collection agency. Mine was for an old ebay account and I had origanally called them last week to pay my account because I wanted to reinstate my old ebay account. They had my debit card ex date wrong and I told them the right ex date and they never recharged it so they had to call me to try and get permission to charge my card again. Mine was a not so bad outcome because I initiated it myself. So I hope you can find out why they are calling you to. Also I told them I googled their number and found this web page and people are sick of the harrassing phone calls.Good LuckJP2859

You are correct! These issues fall under 'civil' issues and not 'criminal' issues. However, IF threats of physical harm are made against you or members of your family it then does become a criminal issue and you can and should file a police report! ** I'm not clear about legal issues regarding "accidentally" ;-) recording a conversation to get any threats made to a person while the answering machine is still running... but that is a good way to provide proof of threats. Also, you could just say you will be recording the conversation (and make sure that statement is recorded at the start before any further conversation takes place while recording) and then I do not see any gray areas that would keep it out of court.
