The callerid reads 425-608-3190 but the voicemail leaves two call back numbers: 425-771-7229 and 1-800-859-0162 ext. 226. The voicemail states, "This is Robert Fletcher and I am not a solicitor. Please call me back at (blah blah) regarding an important personal business matter." I receive this message from this callerid several times each week, ever since I received a new cell phone number.
I've been getting calls from this number on my cell phone for about a year now. This time "Daniel" called, and left a very relaxed laid back message as if he and I were friends. I also received a letter in the mail from them a couple weeks back stating that I had an unpaid dentist bill. The dentist bill that they speak of was paid in full a month after the work had been done. I've told them time and time again that I do not owe this money, but they still continue to call.
This company is WEST COAST ADJUSTERS. Very LEGIT, all the business they receive to COLLECT money is owned by hospitals or clinics.The information they use to collect the debt is what 'YOU' or someone claiming to be 'YOU' wrote on the papers when you check in to the hospital or before your appointments.We CANNOT tell your 'mother, brother, sister or neighbor' ANYTHING about your debt or medical history. That is breaking 2 federal crimes if we do.We do not announce who we are when we call (just incase someone other than yourself checks your voicemail). We send out mail to the LAST REGISTERED ADDRESS that 'YOU' gave to the client (i.e. hospital). If you claim to not have received it because of wrong address, that is your fault, not ours.We are more than willing to discuss anything with you in a civilized manner. I know other companies that will call you every day, up to 10 times a day. You're lucky when we only contact you once a week, if that.
A simple way to remedy this is to provide proof of payment._______A very simple example AND a situation I was in last week.I was walking out of Seattle Mariners Store at Safeco and the alarms went off. They claimed I was stealing merchandise. After I calmly looked at them and said I just purchased this, they didn't believe me. I pulled out my receipt and sure enough, there was proof. They let me go and apologized.______If it is a 'wrong number' and we keep calling, CALL US BACK !!!Say 'hey, my name is ____ _________ and this is my number'We'll ask if you know 'john doe' and if not we'll remove the phone number.We're easy to get along with if you just talk to us civilized.Have a good weekend.
Nice job with the downvotes on all the above posters' comments. Did you feel so miffed at the fact that some people had the temerity to blow the whistle on you and your kind that you just HAD to pop on over to several public library computers to click on that thumbs-down? Since, you know, I doubt you people are clever enough to figure out what a proxy server is.We don't owe parasites like you or those worthless snake oil peddling doctors one red cent. You people are NOT civilized, I have been recieving calls from this number for awhile now for someone who is not myself, and have explained to your company multiple times that I am not and do not know this person, yet I continue to get calls, so legit my buttocks. Get a life and stop the harrassment!
Nope "legit" collectors never have to come on here to defend themselves. At the rate you're going, you will just run out of clients when they find out about your tactics, or get shut down by the authorities. Got a voice-mail yesterday from the aforementioned Robert Fletcher "character" whose tone of voice was barely audible. He didn't identify his organization, nor did he state the nature of the business. He simply left a call-back number 206-524-2949 ext 226 along with a 5-digit reference number (I'm assuming it's a collection case number). Coincidentally, the 524-xxxx number traces back to a QWEST land-line in the Univ.District of Seattle, while the caller's originating number 608-xxxx is a hard-line leased by Broadwing Telecommunications in the Everett/Halls Lake, WA area. Just an FYI...PS. We as Americans need to unite & establish a Consumer (& Other Individual) Rights Protection organization in order to suppress these greedy & malicious "junk debt buyers/collectors" or parasites as *Allanx* (in the comment right above mine) so eloquently put it!!!
We do not 'buy' debt, we handle only Medical debt that incurred by the patient. If insurance wasn't billed, we bill them for you. If you are of low-income we help you fill out charity paperwork. We aren't here to torture you and take your home.If we call you at area code 206, we leave a 206 number, if we call you at area code 425, we leave that number. So YOU do not have to call long distance on YOUR dime. We even have a toll free number for you.The angry people on here, do not make any sense. I did not hop on multiple computers to click on any thumbs down. I visit the site maybe once a week, to see what people say about us. Bad collection agencies do not "care" about the people they mistreat.Also it is against FEDERAL LAW for us to tell you why we are calling on a VoiceMail or envelope.If you were are seriously wronged or mistreated, take it up with the Attorney General. All of our conversations are recorded. We will provide any records they request.If we are asking for 'someone else' on your recorder, give us a call and tell us "wrong number". We will remove it and move on. Numbers get recycled and believe it or not. People Lie and give us wrong numbers when they sign in at hospitals.
Uh they do call several times a day. This is very annoying. If it a LEGIT debt collection business. The their must be people with LEGIT brain capacities. Tgere is so much you can find out about a person with out having to pay someone an hourly wage to bug them all day. Spend the money you would paid someone to harrass a client and pay for some research...like where does the person work? Well if they're not do you thin k you wanna pay someone to harrass them? And whats the persons credit like? Are their things that judging by common sense, should be prioritized over your financial squabble? If so, why pay someone to harrass a client without having the info?
