This number has called several times both my personal cell phone and work. Most times it was under two rings and hung up with no messages. All the calls came after 8pm EST and before 8am EST which is EXTREMELY annoying!!! This morning they called me just after 7:30AM and the first time on my work mobile phone and asking for my grandmother, SMH!! I was concerned and asked why and this crap about she is due to see a doctor. Besides social network sites like Facebook or LinkedIn. I can only guess her own doctor gave my information to these telemarketers. The guy who called me had a thick South Asian - Indian accent. He was robotic with his answers and when I asked to be removed he continued talking, I asked again and louder to be removed. The jerk then tells me I am being recorded. I said good, as I was about to repeat myself again he hung up. I am so annoyed and want to know who gave out my information!!! I feel somebody has violated not only my grandmother's privacy but mine!!
I have been getting calls from 443-492-2802, AARP/UnitedHealthcare almost every 2 days now! I never answer calls that I do not know and they almost never leave a message. The calls stop after a few weeks and then they start up again. UHC is my health insurance, Medicare Complete Advantage Plan. These calls are PURE BS and do not benefit the patient one bit. This time they want me to take a free Diabetic Retinopathy Myopia Exam and I just took this "exam" 4 months ago on 01-22-2016. They sent me to some eyeglasses store with a doctor on premises who explained very little about what this test was for, just that I would get drops in my eyes that would blur my vision for a short time while the doctor examined my retinas and shot "puffs of air" at my eyeballs. It was not painful but I had to wait for the drops to wear off to drive home. Most irritating was the doctor would not tell or give me the test results, he only would say that UHC paid for the test and they would get the results. My own primary care physician could not make sense of the test and it did not benefit me in any way, shape, or form. So I wasted a LOT of time driving and gas for a test far away which would not provide me with the results. How is this good for me, the patient? They also call and pester you for a "Home Visit". This is not like having a nurse come to your home to give you care, it is more like you consenting to a "spy" to search/examine your home and give their findings to UHC, again not to the patient. They are not coming to give me a massage, bath, clean my refrigerator, so what do I need a home visit for? And they pester and pester you constantly with calls to set you up with an appointment for this home visit.GOOD NEWS: Since I know who this is and they are my health insurance company, I called back the same number, 443-492-2802, and was immediately connected to a polite agent to whom I explained I already had the eye test 4 months ago, I do not want anymore eye tests, and I do not want any sort of home visits scheduled. The agent asked if I would like to be put on the "Do Not Call" list. I said I want important calls such as policy changes or premiums, or anything else important, but no more nonsense calls about free eye tests or home visits. The agent said sure and put me on the Do Not Call list. The calls should stop now. I have a very good Android Call Blocker but do not want to block my own healthcare provider.SPECULATION: Since neither one of these tests or visits will benefit me, the healthcare patient, the only conclusion I can come to is that UHC is looking to document any sort of preexisting condition or health risks in the home that may result in an increase in the premium or even to be dropped as a patient. If the eye test results in a higher potential for some sort of diabetic eye disease, that could be cause for a change in my policy. If a home visit revealed a high risk patient lifestyle such as alcohol bottles everywhere, ash trays filled with cigarette butts, the patient is gay and may present a high predisposition to HIV, roaches or a bong for marijuana use or a large amount of various prescriptions drugs all could result in a determination that the insured is now a "high risk patient" which could be cause for a raise in your premium or being dropped as an insured patient. Mind you, everything in this last paragraph is all conjecture on my part, but what else could it be? I would love to hear your opinion.Best thing you can do is call them back and ask to be put on the "Do Not Call List" and be done with it. Now let's see if they stop calling, since UHC has never called me about anything important on the phone at all.
Oh, I forgot to ask why you are here. Since you knew who called and who they were when they showed up at your house, there is absolutely no reason for you to be here. Unless of course you are part of the scam
I received a call from them, no message left but I called the number back. They were asking for my father, who lives a few hours away, but I'm listed with them as an alternate or emergency number. I confirmed with my father.
This is a gang of chinese people that are calling from china and from within the U.S. They call at all hours. Refuse to leave messages. If and when one answers, they are asking for money.
They do this so they can Bill the Government for more Money.... Everything they do can be done by a Certified Nurses Aid... I know. I was one, and I did these Physicals on New Patients... Every year your Doctor is or should be giving you a physical.. So United Healthcare is actually either by passing your Doctor to grab more money or duplicating Services... The President of United Health Care rakes in over $12 million dollars a year in Salary...... Just in case you were wondering where all the Medicare Dollars go to.....
My husband had this home visit from United Healthcare Medicare nurse who was very nice and professional last year and it was just a checkup with any concerns he might be experiencing. Took about 1 hour and we received a gift card at Walmart in the mail a few weeks later.
Why are you here, Ann? Why did you look this number up? You know who the number belongs to, you even (supposedly) got a gift card out of the deal, so why did you come here?
