I am a very trusting person, I'm afraid. This # reports itself as 'Informed Electorate PAC'. They have made many calls, 2-3 offering a survey of one to two Q's regarding political issues. I feel strongly about voter participation in the process...and perhaps this has made me vulnerable. Until today, I did not question their validity. But today's encounter has left me questioning. Not being able to find their website has not helped. Is there indeed a way/forum for reporting such, that has the ability to track down and otherwise impede their ability to take advantage of ??? people like me ??? who aren't savvy to the ways of those who do such things? Thank You.
I surely hope you never have a loved one with a dead cellphone trying to reach you from a borrowed phone.
Susan,Not everyone is the same as you. Many people run their own business from home. So an unknown number could be interpreted as a new client. To suggest that "everyone" follow your rule, else risk being a moron, is unwise.
Called at 9:45pm and 7:45am. Don't expect to be humored at those hours! Will Not answer!
Spam call from "Informed Electorate". They also use 469-607-4695, which is the number I got a call from about two weeks ago. Phone rang three times and then disconnected, so apparently these idiots are wise to the fact that four rings is the standard number of rings before voice mail or answering machine picks up. Another number added to my blocked list!
So the caller said nothing about either political party, but you just had to inject your political opinion into a complaint about an unwanted call ? That makes you a sneaky partisan.
Tried It All,A problem comes up when you get automated calls that are legit -- such as appointment confirmations or credit card usage alerts. The recorded message starts as soon as your line is picked up, meaning that you miss the first part of the caller's message which is most likely the part you wanted to hear, that is: who's calling and why. When I tried this, I ended up with a lot of confusing messages like, "...if you can't keep this appointmt please call xxx-xxx-xxxx at least 24 hours before, your appointment." Followed by me calling unknown numbers and trying to piece together who called - while annoying other suspicious people who think **I'm ** a scammer!
