They regularly call me. Tonight I answered in Spanish and they went on a rant about me winning a free calling card that will allow me to call here and there blah blah blah. They asked me if I wanted it and they had my address already. I did not give them any information and they said they will be mailing me the card in 2 days. At the end of the conversation, the woman gave me an 800 number to call if I had any questions, except she read it out to me at a million miles and hour and abruptly hung up. All I got was the 800. When I get the car, I will come back and write all the info and maybe we can ID who these idiots are.
I went to the 500 website (www.500plus.com) and read their policy regarding (500) Vanity numbers. Number one reason for being suspended is SPAM. Then immoral, pornographic stuff. I suggest all of you that want to ID these people write an email in their "contact" page detailing that this number (500)500-5000 is being used for spam and perhaps they will be busted. I doubt it since they would loose money on these very expensive accounts.
Same thing here.We have a Spanish last name and I do speak Spanish as a 2nd language (my husband is Latino) but not my native language - so I don't like to mess with telemarketers who are fast talkers. I have a hard enough time with the English speaking ones! ... So when a telemarketer calls asking if I speak Spanish sometimes I fib and pretend that I don't... Anyway, I tried this tactic with the 500-500-5000 people and they just hung up on me. I thought that was the end of it but they still call. Like everyone else said, sometimes it's a static sound. To say "Don't call me again!" you can say "No me llamas otra vez!" (Pronounced: No may yamas o-tra bays) ... Somehow I don't think this will be effective, but good luck... If they call again I may pick up the phone and scream at the top of my lungs into the phone just to mess with them. LOL.Here are some other fun phrases:"Tu madre tiene un bigote!" (Your mother has a mustache)"No me jodas!" (Don't bother me)"Un burro sabe mas que tu!" (A donkey knows more than you)...Have fun! ;)
I have been getting the same calls from them since November 2007. They stoped for a couple of weeks when I threatened them with the police. I filed a complaint with do not call registry but got no where with them. I talked to FCC today after receiving yet another call from them and they told me to file a complaint on their website. I am going to do that now.
They stated calling here yesterday according to my wife. I got a call this morning and answered, they sounds like they were on the moon. Said something, I couldn't make it out, then I heard a bunch of static followed by nothing. I hava hispanic last name and am assuming most if not all posters here do too. I'm looking forward to there call back and have a couple responses set a side for them. Here's an example.usted extremo locoandusted mató a mis padresPS - My caller Id said "Special Acce XX" , initially I thought it was my brother calling from Iraq.. Glad I found this forum and I look forward to their next call. I will be ready this time. ha ha
HAVE CALLED 2-3 TIMES EVERY DAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW SAME STORY AS OTHER PEOPLE A SPANISH LADY AT OTHER END DONT UNDERSTAND HER SO SHE HANGS UP AND THEN CALLS BACK IN A HOUR OR SO THINKING ABOUT DROPING IN HOME PHONE SERVICE THIS IS GETTING CRAZY!!!!IF ANYONE HAS ANY HELPFUL INFO PLEASE LET ME KNOW .LOTS OF THANKS !!!
This number called my phone twice yesterday and spoke Spanish. The first time they asked if I spoke Spanish, The second time nothing. after I asked who was calling.
I get 1 or 2 of these a day, I can understand some Spanish, and speak almost none, but the caller speaks way too fast for me to understand. Today I told them that I didn't speak spanish well, and asked if the lady spoke english, and do said no and hung up on me. Very friendly. Next time, I will answer with "Tome este número de su lista, no llame otra vez." It means "Take this number off your list, do not call here again." Who knows, maybe it'll work.
Keep in mind I have been on the Do Not Call List for 5 years, since they started, and I am still being called by, Spanish only, telemarketers from Dish network and now these guys.I got a call from 500-500-5000 today and I speak fluent English and Spanish. Jose, he said his name was, said he was calling from the "telephone company" and wanted to thank me for being a good customer and making payments on time, by giving me a free 500 minute calling card. Oddly enough I never use calling cards or make any long distance calls since all my family members live locally (lucky me?) in Miami FL.I said, OK send me the free card, but they did not know my first name, just my last name, Aguilera, yes like Christina, but they did know my complete address. Jose transfered me to Pilar, who would confirm my order so "there would be no problems." Pilar confirmed my address and asked my permission to send the card."How much does it cost?" She reaffirmed the card is free, she confirmed my address too and finally said something very fast about a charge to activate the card and when I asked her to clarify - the line was already hung up.I wonder if they will send the card and charge it to my Bellsouth account? We shall see.
