Why am I receiving these calls from 502-213-2798? All that is heard is "This is an alert". You can't talk to a person and no information is given. Attempts to return the call are aborted.

ok everyone getting a call from this number 502-213-2798 you can call this number the people there will remove your number from their system (501) 682-2222 it appears that the ones calling you are called vine and they notify you if an inmate is moved ect ect...its the head quarters for the whole country in ky. just call the 501 number and they will assist you.
i got two calls yesterday from long distance numbers that i didn't recognize so i googled them. one was a crime victims' notification number, the other one was a telemarketer for home security systems. coincidence? or shady telemarketers?
not a scam...was just called because I am a victim and I am very greatful for this system. Because of this system atleast now I know that I need to watch my back. You may be annoyed with errors, but do not knock it...there are many people that rely on it!

Called and asked me to return call about a musical instrument that must be returned immediately. Got my name wrong as well. Scammers.
