They called twice this morning and didn't leave a message. I don't have a Wells Fargo account either. Caller ID says Wells Fargo Ban.
No, this is not a legit number for WF collections. Not answering will not make SCAMMERS stop calling.
Same, hung up. Call them "Well Fargo". WF doesnt do business like this. Called my carrier and had it blocked from calling me
503-605-8776 called my cell today (02/15/2013) and a woman asked for "Theresa". Told her they were mistaken and had the wrong number to which she replied "We just talked to her a week ago at this number." No you didn't is all I said and she said "OK" and hung up. The caller id said they were from Beaverton, OR.
This is really Wells Fargo!! It is the department that calls their account holders who are overdrawn on their checking accounts. I just had a lengthy conversation with the customer service representative and it was not a scam. She knew all my recent banking transactions, etc.. Do not ignore them or it could endanger the status of your checking account.
I noticed your post and wanted to pass on my experience. They are Wells Fargo and the reason they were calling me was because my checking account was overdrawn. The lady I spoke with was able to give me a lot of info that only Wells Fargo would know. I told her I looked their number up on this website and that a lot of people were reporting them as a scam. She denied this and said to call my local branch with their phone number and they would verify it is legitimate.. Just trying to be helpful...I don't know why they were calling you, but I'd hate you to get in trouble with your account because you thought this was a scam.
I didn't start getting these calls til I got an insufficient funds notice. It is Wells Fargo, not a phishing scam, now for those that do not owe anything to WF.....don't know. But mine is legit, I owe, they called me, I will pay it.
Unfortunately, information was given to the caller by my roommate. She now is filing fraud alerts, identity theft complaints, and a police report. Do NOT give information out. Call your banks directly to see if they need information from you.

Got my name wrong, no where near close to the person they're trying to scam/contact. Call came from North Texas, left no company name, nothing. Shady asf, 888 area code is commonly used by scammers so this may not be legit.

Sent an email trying to encourage people to call Bank of America at this number. As phishing attempt go, this one was better than most. I can smell these things a mile away.
