Please do NOT trust this poster. Call Wells Fargo yourself. We did. They DID NOT make a call to my friend.
I called the number on behalf of my girlfriend who was receiving numerous phone calls from this number. They did ask for an account number or SSN but I didn't give them either. Instead I told them we did not do business with WF and it seemed like a scam. The operator asked what phone number they were calling and would remove her from the list. The operator told us the phone number was in the system under a different name, seemed reasonable enough. That said, don't give out any personal information to them. Just tell them to stop calling.
I Got a call today and the man said he was calling from Wells Fargo overdraft and asked for my account number or social. I told him I was not giving that over the phone and hung up. I did then call my bank and told me it was not them most likely a scam. That the bank would not call and ask for that information if they call they would know that info.

Sent an email trying to encourage people to call Bank of America at this number. As phishing attempt go, this one was better than most. I can smell these things a mile away.
