Just got called from 5106999231. Answered but no one there. This has happened to me before from that number.
510-699-9231 called a minute ago caller ID said "cap sucs" wth? I would not answer any number with an ID ;like that! LOL idiots, when will they ever learn? its over with harassing calls from unsolicited [***]'sdont answer them!
Just received a call from this number: 510-699-9231 caller id said CAP Svcs. It was a pre-recorded message about lowering interest rates on credit cards. Message said to press 1 to speak with a representative. The person who answered hung up on me. This call was to my elderly mother's telephone. She was scammed in December in an identical method: She was told they could lower her credit card interest rate to below 2% for the amazingly low fee of $995.00 charged to her credit card. She agreed and was told they would have a "financial advisor" contact her. I told her to tell them to call me. They did and were trying to get her bank account number. Luckily, the credit card company reversed the charge. I would like nothing better than to beat the crap out of these kind of people!!!
stating that I could get a lower interest rate on my credit cards... LOL who has credit cards, well not me. So I wanted my number removed from the list and pressed 1 and they answered and then hung up
I received a phone call with the same recorded message about lowering my credit card rate. I hung up on them. We also are on the "Do Not Call List" and wondered who you report to. I looked the phone number up and found it is a mobile phone in CA.
Recorded message from 'Heather' calling about your credit account.. (which one? They don't say) claiming to be able to lower your interest rates to as low as 6%. Press 1 to speak to someone, or 2 to receive no further notices. I pressed 1 to yell at someone, but it just hung up on me.SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAMI don't even have a credit card!
Just got a call from this number. I punched the number to talk with their financial advisor. They wanted me to give them my credit card number, experation date and security card number! Are you kidding me!!!!!
I agree, I do NOT answer calls from unknown numbers, they can leave a voicemail if something is important. For those that press 1 or 2 or whatever to either talk to someone or to signify that you want to be removed from their contact list... I'm afraid that any option that is pressed by the recipient acknowledges to their system that it is a valid number and will thus be pestered over and over....which is why I don't ever answer these.BUT... if you do answer these by mistake (which I still do now and then) just don't say anything as I think in some cases it doesn't get transferred to a human until sound is heard... and if you do get a human, just say nothing and let THEM go through the "hello? hello?" routine and let THEM get bothered by it.It still amazes me how many people must buy things through this telemarketer garbage, otherwise I figure the business would have dried up years ago. One can only hope!
I got a call from this number just now, but when I answered no one said anything and then they hung up.If you want these kinds of calls to stop, please read this!!!!!===========================================If you are on the Do-Not-Call list and get unwanted calls, you can report them. Reporting them takes a few minutes, but IT DOES WORK and helps everybody. I almost never get any calls now since I started reporting them. You need the number of the company and it helps to have the name, but even if the number if bogus, like 000-000-0000 you can still report them and the FTC can get the phone company records that has the real number they used.Just call 1-888-382-1222 and follow the instructions. It takes a couple of minutes, but like I said this really does work to stop the calls. And if we can stop the calls we can stop the scammers that are hurting those that can't defend themselves. And consider helping someone else to get on the DNC list like your mom and dad.Lastly, I have posted this basic message many, many times. Please consider making a copy of it and posting it on other sites like this one. I could use your help to get the word out. The DNC list and the ability to report junk and scam calls is one thing the government is doing that really does work. :-)
