9/26/2008 I received a call from a women stating that she was from the social security office and wanted to send me information regarding starting to get my ss now instead of 66yrs.She told me what I would be getting now etc.She said I did not have to decide now, that she would mail me information. She asked me to verify my mailing address,ss #, mothers name (same 6 questions that the ss office asks when you call in) I did (wrong thing to do). As soon as I hung up I realized how dumb I was and called back the SS number she gave me and they informed me that no one had called from the SS office.

Did these people try to open any credit cards, affect your bank accts etc.I have contacted all the credit depts. etc. Has anything happened based on this telephone call to you. Thanks Marie

This woman called my mother asking for my phone number or address, saying I was due a payment per the increase in my father's SS. My mother reluctantly gave my cell #. The woman reached me with the same query and asked if I wanted the payment deposited directly into my bank acct. I said no, gave her my mailing address (not sure that was smart but everything seemed legit and the "payment" owed me was small. We traced this and are pretty sure this is a scam. Watching my acct closely.

aunt got a call from this number wanted info and for her to call back at 888-880-2832 x4561 I intercepted the call thinking it was bogus! Looks like it was.....

unwanted calls

Received a call late evening on a Sunday evening from this number. Caller said they were from Medicare and needed to verify information regarding claims that were in process. Caller sounded like an elderly woman. She appeared to be reading from a script of questions and requested I confirm my SS# to establish that she had the right person. She asked a number of private information questions that I could not answer without research. When I indicated same, she asked if she could call back in the morning.

Person called on a Saturday evening from this number claiming to be from SS and that a large deposit had mistankingly been deposited in my in-laws account and that they would have to send the money back. We hung up.

Got 3 calls one after the other saying they wanted to reach my Mother, they said she had been paid a large payment that must be returned. 1st call 2.31, 3rd call 2.39,

This telephoe code and prefix appears to be coming from Richmond, CA area, where there is a Social Security Western Program Services. No voice mail message was left. I did not return the telephone call.

Man called publishing company claiming he had returned $600 worth of defective books and never received promised replacements. At first refused to give any number where he could be reached, then gave 510-970-1100 as a callback number. Seems to be a scam.
