This is a legitimate social security telephone number. I received a call from them to discuss an application I made on line. There was nothing odd about the call; nor was any personal information requested.
Soc Sec has ALWAYS mailed any requests for information. They have NEVER tried to contact me by phone. Not ever. I just got one of these calls also. It's a scam folks! The number might be real but the caller is likely a criminal. It's called SPOOFING a number.
I applied for SS benefits online few weeks ago. I had few questions and called 800 number listed on SSA website. Lady said somebody will call me back. Yesterday I received a call from 510-970-1100 with caller ID SOCIAL SEC ADMI. Person left message with number 510-970-13xx to call back.I called that number and my questions were answered. They did not require any information but my name.It is legitimate SSA phone number.
Just barely got a call from this number. I did not answer it as I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and no voice mail was left.
Got a call from the above number obviously spoofing the number and ID at 5:25PM 9/12/16. Pretty obvious that a call from a Govt Agency at this time of day is a FAKE. And all day SATURDAY or SUNDAY. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFO TO A CALLER NO MATTER WHAT SHOWS UP ON THE CALLER ID.
This person called claiming that they were from social security. It wasnt them but they had all my families personal information
Got a call from Ms Griswold. Saying they are trying to send me something from SSI. She knew I was a payee but not to whom. She said there was paperwork they had to send me that keeps being returned. However I haven't changed my address, and I just received paperwork from them last week. She said "well that's weird " if I didn't verify my info, the next step was to suspend payments.
