Got a call from this number about 4 minutes after the previous post. Caller ID was, indeed, "LOCAL" but with a 512 area code it ain't remotely local to where I live! No message, as once the machine answered, they hung right up. I would bet on robo caller/scam and wonder if the ASAP outfit isn't the source.

Calling Georgia with a 512 area code and caller ID that said 'LOCAL'. Answered it because I was bored and someone speaking very bad English wanted to offer my husband an extended auto warranty. Funny...they couldn't tell me what kind of car we had, but they said that didn't matter! Were very anxious to get a credit card number. Feel sorry for the people that fall for this junk.

We have call waiting on our phone. This # appeared on our caller ID when one the phone with a friend. Normally I would let the phone ring twice, depress the "talk" button immediately followed by the "off" button. I decided to redial the # since we're waiting for a call regarding our home owner's insurance. A recording came on the line telling me to press any digit to be removed from their call list. Yea. Right. Regardless, I have blocked the number and don't care how many are in my system. So much for being on a "do not call" list.

Caller ID said "Local", but the area code is for Austin, TX and I live in Florida. This number is now blocked.

The Panasonic phone doesn't even ring when a call comes in from a blocked number, so why don't you want to use that instead?

We are not calling you. Why are you yelling at us????

In case his Panasonic phone quits working and he has to use some other phone equipment.

It's the same old same old home security scam. Don't answer it's a waste of your time.
