Keep getting calls from 512-674-2000. They called seven times in less than 15 mins.last call says they left voice message but no one talked. My daughter had just told me today to watch for scam numbers. I looked it up and it's apple company from Austin tx. Scares me cause if legit, why don't they leave a message!
Apple calling back to resolve an issue I had and was taken care of yesterday. Just seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
I can confirm that it IS Apple. I was called to confirm a purchase I allegedly made. I contacted my Visa acct, saw a fraudulent charge, got it removed, and called Apple back to report the fraudulent charge. They had not shipped it yet and were able to cancel the order. Lucky for me that Apple called since the thieves had made several purchases on my card that day.
Got call claiming from Apple and trying to verify info. I called Apples main customer service and they said the don't make calls to verify orders. I immediately cancelled the credit card I used for this purchase.
Not true.. This is a switchboard number and Apple call centers everywhere can show up calling from this number
totally legit. AppleCare no. I had been working with them on an issue re my iMac, and the tech I spoke with just called me to follow up. It's not their direct line(s) ... it's a switchboard no.
I received a call from this number which turns out to be Apple. They called to verify that I had purchased a $100 gift card which as it turns out was a fraudulent charge to my card that someone initiated through a gift card website. Because of their call, I was able to block the purchase from going through and didn't loose any money from it. Thank you Apple!!!
Ordered an iTunes gift card online last night and this morning received an email and voicemail (512-674-2000). They wanted to confirm the purchase, but other than my name and probably the phone I called from, they didn't ask for personal information. I confirmed that I ordered the gift card. I then got email confirmation that my gift card had been sent. I believe this phone number to legitimately be Apple's customer service/fraud prevention.
