To all the morons claiming that it isn't apple: It is. BUT. Scammers these days can spoof caller ID. This means they can pretend to be Apple. It does NOT mean that Apple is trying to scam you. Morons.
This number is Apple. I placed an order on line and they just called to verify that I did order it.
This call came in from Texas as Apple Inc. Person said someone is trying to use my credit card ending in XXXX to purchase an apple watch. I told them it was a false charge, they said they will cancel the order. I checked my business acct and there was a pre-authorization for $400+ dollars. They said they will not batch out the payment and the pre-auth will drop off. They did have the correct card number, the authorization was on the card on file and they did have my phone number to call me so all seems legit, they caught it and I immediately called my bank to cancel the card.
My husband received a call today from this number checking a credit card that was being used in CA. It was an old card but how did an Apple employee get my husband's phone number? He doesn't own any Apple products? Thankfully no additional info was given.
this is a fraud caller. I have never and never will own apple products. saw this number on caller messages and found they charge my business account for $800.00
Call was placed to my cell phone to confirm an order I had placed through Apple a few minutes earlier.
Repeatedly called landline over and over within a fairly short period of time. Looks like a scam to me! Did not leave message on answering machine. This is not Apple.
Said he was from Apple and wanted to verify purchase of iPhone-I said I had not made a purchase so he said he was going to notify my card holder (and cited last 4 digits of my card) that the card was compromised- I told him not to do that- how did he get my cell# and last 4 digits of credit card?
