This is a phishing call disguised under the Apple phone number. Called me 2x without leaving a message, then I received a text from Apple that my order was ready to be picked up. When I called the number back I was being asked for personal information. I said I would not provide any information. The woman's response was "you called us" I replied, no you called me I am simply returning your call. I only gave my zip code and was told that did not match the shipping order. They stated products were ordered using a VISA but would not provide more information. Called my card companies and requested new numbers (no new charges had been made) The text message has mysteriously disappeared from my phone.
The caller left message saying they wanted to confirm an order from the on-line apple store. You even call back and it says "thanks for calling the apple store, our offices are closed right now", yeah really. in the middle of the day??? They have my first name, a confirmation number, and an extension number that was 5262724... And she asked me to call 18005063096. Like they call from a landline and then ask you to call a "1800" number. That's the biggest give away to me. I called my bank and they said "Rip Curl" tried to charge just over $900. In what I don't know. Probably just turns into cash for these diseased a$$holes. Don't fall for it!!! Don't call them back, just call your bank and cancel the card...
So I received a call from this number 512-674-2000, at first didn't pick up as I don't usually answer phone calls from the number I don't know. So of course I googled this number and later realized that it was from Apple. So I get a call the second time (20 minutes later) and this time I answer. This is not a scam call, it is just to verify if you are the person that ordered the device. It is for a security purpose. They want to make sure that you have made a purchase.
