Hello, I am actually still in negotiations with a certain Nicolars Smith who posted a vacation rental on CL and who gave me this number and two adresses, one in New York, where the vacation rental is and the other is still in New York. Here is the last e-mail I received a couple of hours ago. Is there anything to be done to stop or apprehend these people? Yes, I just fell off the turnip truck. I too got scammed $297.50 to be exact just recently when this person asked for more money my girlfriend (more brains than me) googled the email address and found you folks (thank goodness). I have contacted West Terre Haute police at 812 533 2114 to file a formal complaint and charges, apparently there is only one Western Union in this town and one person has already filed a complaint so I'm optimistic this person(s) will be caught shortly as Western Union is cooperating and have cameras and can narrow down the time frame. I won't see my money back (credit card won't acknowledge these kinds of scams for refund) but, Western Union said I might get a refund on my wired transfer costs if I write them and tell them what happened. If you've been caught on this, PLEASE report it to the police at West Terre Haute, the stronger the case the better. It would appear only two of us actually reported. I'm also registering the complaint to Yahoo and to Craigslist to attempt to shut this person down so it will be more difficult for it to happen again!
