A variation on a theme here... i got a call from this number [540-463-3816] saying the were a Microsoft Service Center, telling me there had been an increase in computer hacking in my area. The tell tale call center chatter in the background was a big tip off. I told the individual "You don't know me, you don't know what type of computer I have, or what type of operating system I'm using. You're phishing for information. GOOD-BYE!"

After reading all your comments thank god I didn't answer!

This is a scam !!!! A stupid Arabic selling cards, but his name was Miguel. Stupid As$%&(!

Canadian "Do Not Call" laws do not apply outside the country (nor do American ones), so scammers happily scam people from other parts of the world, calling into North America with "spoofed" numbers.Do not EVER pick up for calls from a number that you don't recognize. It will reassure them that you are there for them to bother. Do not EVER talk to them; you can't stop the calls and they will NEVER "take you off their list." The only hope is for them to think there's nobody at your number, and MAYBE your number will stop being sold in lists to scammers. Plus, if you don't pick up, you don't waste your time trying to "get them to stop" (because your answering the phone justifies that they should keep calling because they know they'll get a human on the other end).Any legitimate caller will leave a message. Never pick up.

Received a call from this number (540-563-3816). An automated voice noting the call was to reduce the rate on my credit cards and said to press "1" to speak to a live operator. When the live operator came on the line, I asked, "Do you have a Do-Not-Call list" to which she abruptly hung up. Next time I won't ask, rather just scream into her hear.

Call stating something about my credit card... It is a scam they have attached someones old,disconnected number... it came up as Nancy Higgins....

They keep calling and they won't stop :(

I received many phone calls from the number 540-463-3816. I don't answer these calls anymore. I just wish they stop calling my number because I know nothing about who they are nor the purpose of these calls. Hope you could do something about the situation. Tank you for your help.
