SCAM SCAM SCAMFirst, grants.gov "No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient." I reported this to support@grants.govI received a call on 2/3/2015 from 543-210-9876. A man with a horrible accent told me that I qualified for a $9,000 grant from the US Government (US Government Grant Dept, Washington DC) for being a "loyal citizen" (no bankruptcy, criminal charges, etc.) He then told me that I needed to call the processing department at 202-697-9050 to get the money sent to my nearest Western Union today. He also offered to place this money directly into a checking or charge account, if I would provide that information.I called 202-697-9050 and talked to "Anthony Gordon, Account Manager" who reviewed this same information again. To Anthony I provided the "authorization number" given to me by the first man. Anthony gave me a tracking number for the $9,000 and reminded me that I was selected by a demographic survey run by the government. He then told me that I needed to pay for an interstate transaction fee, as California charges income tax and the money is coming from the Federal Bank of New York. He told me I needed to buy a MoneyGram for $200.00 and then go to the Western Union. From there, I would call him on the phone and he would verify the $200.00 and then authorize me to receive the $9,000.00 as cash within 10-15 minutes.That is where I thanked him for all the information he provided, told him I was reporting him to the government and hung up.

Didn't answer, no message

Received phone call today.. Heavily accented voice to the point where I could barely understand and when I asked to be put on their do not call list, he actually asked me as to why?! Let's hope he doesn't call back.

Received a phone call saying I was eligible for a $10,000 grant. After listening to their spill i thanked them and said "its ok dont need it you can keep it" the lady said "[***] you" and hung up.......

This is a bogus area code. Area code 543 does not exist.

Received a missed call from this number. I recently signed up for a GoDaddy domain, and also on an affiliate network. Has anyone signed up as an affiliate recently?

I listened to this guy, hard to understand and in the end he asks for MY credit card # to send $9000 to my account. OH sure here's my account # 555-1212-1212-1212 exp 6/1855 code FU. LOSERS watch out for these guys Scam at work
