received a call from this number - a hang up when my answering machine came on; called twice.

Picked up the phone after two rings. Nobody responded on the other end.

I've been getting these calls for many of the already stated reasons. There is likely nothing we can do about it unless the Feds get involved and probably not even then, they are most likely out of the country. There are ways to electronically trick the caller ID. I have seen it before when a friend was getting politically motivated death threats from un-assigned numbers. They are obviously looking for personal information to scam people.

This came on my cell phone- I picked up, there was silence, then a recording came on saying, "Hi, my name is Heather and I am calling about your credit card account. Don't be alarmed, nothing is wrong, I want to make you an offer to reduce your interest rate to 6.5%. Press 1 for a representative." Interested in which card they were calling on, I pressed 1 and got a man. He started out saying that he'd like to offer me a lower rate on ALL of my credit cards. I inquired as to which card he was calling on specifically and he said all. I told him that this is a solicitation and no way am I giving him any information. The man started yelling at me and hung up. I googled the number as soon as I got to work. My cell phone is already on the DNC list.

The calls are coming in from "Card Services" supposedly the name of the company that of course can promise to lower my credit card interest. I have tried to no avail to get my number removed from the calling list. I have gone as far as to suggest interest to get a live operator on the phone. (If you simply press 1, the calls are supposed to stop.) The last time (before today) I got REALY ugly and the calls stopped for about a week, but have since resumed. I am also filing a report to the No Call abuse line.

Did anyone call the US-DNCR, and try to report this#? (888-382-1222? This is the # my phone co. gave me.) If you did, did it tell you "you were trying to report the # you are calling from" this is so weird.. How can we stop the maddness? Is there a way we can all file a class action suit against ALL telemarketers? Someone out there has to be selling our phone #s.Thanks for the physical addresses that have been posted on here. I certainly intend to contact them.

Just called and I pressed "1", told them to take me off their list they were calling a cell phone. He said I could lower the interest on my cell phone ? Figure that one out. I asked what company he worked for he said all of them. Chase, MBNA, Fleet etc... Besides he was a complete a$$ too.
