Got a call from them last night and it came up as phone scam on the caller ID.....love it...
Why do you people even answer the phone? If I see a call from an unknown number with a caller ID like "CELL PHONE" or "PHONE SCAM", I let it ring and then add the number of my blocking list.
Have had about 10-15 of these calls in the last 6 months, even after our phone was added to the No Call list. When I hit 9 to ask to have the number removed from their list or talk to a supervisor, or even get more information about lowering interest sent to me, they have in the past immediately hung up on me. Tonight, the person was very polite and said he would remove my phone number, but I would have to wait for up to 2 minutes for him to do it. I waited for about 45 seconds then he came back and asked for verification of number and zip code, then what color pants I was wearing. I just figured it was better to hand up on him after that. I'm sure he and his buddies had a great time.
Received a call today. The phone I originally answered on did not show up as phone scam. As I was conversing with the caller I looked at a different phone that has caller ID and that phone did show phone scam. The caller attempted to get credit card as well as other information. They were trying to come of as being from credit card services and wanted to lower your interest amount. The caller stated that they worked with all credit card companies, such as Bank of America, Chase, and others. Obviously the call was bogus, as the caller had no way to prove that he/she was from a specific card company. A real credit card company would already have your information. I hung up on the caller.
These people are pedophiles, or very sick individuals to say the least. What?! They think that people are dying to answer unfamiliar calls? Over my dead body -- I just pressed "ignore" on my phone. No problemo. Obviously a random call, as we do not carry credit cards. They should be reported, however -- to someone. The "Do Not Call" lists do not work for these guys. I did however enjoy reading the comments of other victims of these calls. Most of you are too clever to fall for them; and we applaud you! It is sad that we have had to instruct young children in our care -- children and grandchildren -- not to answer calls.
Lowering interest rates. Asked for my account numbers. I said I didn't want to waste his time and the reason I pressed 9 was to be removed. He kept asking for numbers Then said lots of Fbombs told me he would like me to suck his coc*And many other very rude things. This went on for a while. I told him the language he is using is not effecting me as much as him. He then said a few other very rude things and hung up.
I got a call from this number and it came up on the caller ID as PHONE SCAM. Our phone service is through our cable so if they know it is a scam, why do they allow it?
I agree with almost ALL of the above. What I have found to work the best, with the least bit of aggravation, is to let the unknown number to to voice mail, listen to it, and if it is one of these unsavory callers, I immediately block their number. Now that is on my cell phone. As far as your home phone, I let Every number I know go to voice mail. Or, I answer, and it there is silence for more than a Second, I hang up.
