I just got a call from this number and much to my surprise below the number the caller was identified as 'call scam'. Wow, I guess you have to like their honesty HAHA...but I didn't like it enough to pick up.
I too had the same experience as lienad2611, but without the F stuff. These idiots called today and have called in the past also. The caller ID says V07231402200002 and the phone number that called here today was 567-248-4400, which turns out to be in Attica Ohio.I KNEW that if this call was from OUR credit card company, they would already know that we (fortunately) do NOT have an interest bearing charge card balance owing! I told the Middle Eastern accented person TWICE that we wanted to be removed from their phone list and we do NOT want to be called anymore, to which he replied "what did you want to know?" and I AGAIN told him not to call me anymore...period. So he hung up. I am going to pursue this higher and make a stink. They can annoy us, but we cannot knock them off! Something is wrong with this picture!
Phone rang twice and when I picked up the phone they hung up. Have received calls from this number in the past several times.
I have a caller ID on my phone and I never answer any numbers that I don't know. I will then take the number if there is one listed and check thru google to see who and where it is from. If they have no number listed such as Private Caller then I just delete the number. This can be a pain, but if you don't answer they usually stop for awhile. The no call list is pretty much useless here in Wi and on the National level.
Just received a call on the land line from 567-248-4400. The caller ID said the caller was "Phone Scam". I did not answer it nor did they leave a message. This was the first time the caller ID had "Phone Scam" listed as the caller.
Call came in as "Phone Scam" on the caller ID. Boy, talk about truth in advertising!! I never answer calls that I cannot positively identify... Just added this to my list... Damn I hate telemarketers!
Here is my suggestion: When you get such a call, click to talk with a live person. As soon as they answer, blow a very loud whistle or air horn into the phone. They may get mad and call back, but they use a rotary dialer so they don't know if they have called you or whom they have called. Just blow out their eardrums. I say to do this to those who have cursed and been rude, NOT those who are merely trying to make a living calling about windows or siding. But for those overseas scam artists, the only way WE can do anything is to turn them into the AG, etc., and then make it miserable for them to call. Those little air horns are easy to find and cheap as are little metal whistles. I prefer the air horn. If you are caught without your noisemaker, scream at the top of your lungs the moment the actual person comes onto the line.
These postings must be working, when I got a call from this number today, it came across my caller id as "Phone Scam". I was pleased to see it and when I "pressed 9" to talk to a live person, he came on the line saying "I assume you are calling in reference to your credit call bill", I said "No, I calling in reference the listing on my caller id of Phone Scam". The guy on the other end started stuttering and back peddling. I told them to remove my number from the call list and if I receive one more phone call from them, my attorney would be the next call they received. The guy didn't know what to say, so he hung up. Filed a complant on the "Do not call list" Keep up the posting people, slowly but surely we are beating the scammers down.
