I just received a call from this number = Merick Research. They knew my name and even where one of my bank account originates. They claimed to be calling for Bank of America and asked if I had banked at a specific bank in the town where my one account originated. This was the second or third question - I answered no. Then he asked what branch I did bank at in the last month. When I asked why he wanted to know, he hung up on me. I called Bank of America and was told this is a phishing scam - and they made a note on my account that Merick had called. Merick was definitely not calling on the behalf of Bank of America.

How do you block these people?

Got a call from them this evening saying that they were "Advance Auto Parts"I did just buy something recently from advance auto parts and gave them my phone number(have an account there because of the warranty on the part I bought) so this could be a companycalling on behalf of Advance Auto Parts I suppose- survey or something perhaps?

PLEASE someone, help get rid of this type calls!! What good does it do us to be on ALL the "No CALL Lists" ???????????????? After reading the other messages, I am glad I did not answer. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US!!!!

If this research were genuine, they’d leave a message or a call back number. But the impostors are desperate so they aren’t being honest. Liars are essentially nervous and paranoid individuals. Therefore they won’t reveal themselves.

I've received 3 calls so far from this company (Maritz Research) today - the 3rd call I had just got home, and picked up the phone & screamed, then hung up. I just called BofA to notify them about these scamming calls. I have caller ID, call screening, and I'm on the SO CALLED 'do not call list' but nothing seems to stop these people & no seems to be able to do anything about it.Today is the first time they've called me from 571-431-1960...but they've been calling me from 231-224-2031 for the past 2 weeks.I don't understand why & how the FCC has let these DOOSHBAGS (yes, I know it's not the proper spelling but the FCC deletes the proper spelling, while the mysterious SCUM BAG callers have been getting away with harassment for 3 years!) I just don't get it. They must tune in daily to this website to read what people are posting, so they can get more motivated to enjoy their lame bottom-feeder of life jobs.They've called as last as 1130pm PST I have to wake up @545am most days & go to sleep early on those days. Too bad I can't keep calling them at their homes @6am....

Dont tell me an overweight person is making these calls. Too much McDonalds and cheese make certain people go crazy.

They may be able to call from one state, then transfer the call through a service in your local area. You see that it is from your local area and answer the call only to find out it is some caller you would not have taken the call from. I live in the 206 area code and got calls like that. The person I spoke with did not even know it showed up on my ID caller as 206. He call from california. I know that after the area code is the prefix and for me the prefix numbers were 801 and 866. When I called the numbers, there is always a busy signal.
