Many calls and even when I press #1 to talk to an agent it is a hang up even if a person finally answers. I am on the no call list and would like this company or fraudster out of business. When I call the number it is always a busy signal.
My caller ID indicates the caller with this number it's from a wireless caller. No vocal communication what so ever. What is the point of these calls? Just pure lame....and annoying.
I figured out a way to stop these calls. This method works nicely with a cell phone. It can work with a home phone too, but it's a bit more difficult. 5 months ago I was getting called 2 or 3 times a day by some variation of "cardholder services." This month I've only gotten 4 calls, and the last two were a week apart. The objective is to make the scammer's computer think it is dialing a non-working number. This method takes patience on your part, but eventually it works.Five months ago I started pressing the call reject button for all calls from numbers I did not recognize. I then googled the number. If it was a scammer I added the number to my phone's auto-reject list. Legitimate calls I returned with an explanation; no one minded. To reject calls with a home phone you have to use the Star-60 feature or your local service provider's website to build a rejected numbers list. An answering machine alone is not enough, particularly if you have a personal message recorded; the scammer's computer still detects the voice.I rejected all suspicious calls without answering them. I did not press a number to be added to their Do Not Call list. I did not press 1 to talk to a live operator. I did not use a whistle or air-horn. Only once did I find myself accidentally answering the call, but I did not speak; hearing no sound from me the scammer's computer disconnected a moment later without playing the prerecorded message. It is very important that you make no response to the scammer's call. Do not speak or press a button. Any response whatsoever will cause the computer to flag your number as a working number, which puts you at the top of their redial list.Within 2 weeks of starting to reject scammer calls they had slowed down to only once a day, sometimes twice. Within a month I noticed that I wasn't being called every day anymore. In the fourth month I only got 20 calls. This month, the fifth month, I have only received four - just four - calls, and the last two were a week apart. If you want a jump-start on building your own number reject list, here's the list of numbers the scammers used to call me during the last five months. My cell phone's reject list can hold 30 numbers. A home phone list may only be able to have 10 numbers, so I've indicated which numbers were most recently used by the scammers:202-499-1488 (used in August)206-496-0985209-249-1930 (used in August)360-474-3968 (used in August)360-529-6177 (used for six weeks in June and July)360-529-6956425-406-9024 (used in June and September)480-982-3626609-227-4849 (used in September)612-222-7091619-306-9089701-264-5001 (used in August)720-409-2532773-432-7423802-230-6357 (used in April, June and August)802-488-3051 (used in August)812-962-9332818-798-1988 (used in August)832-377-3059 (used in August)915-217-5883971-220-1032971-295-9768973-273-7822
I don't know who the call was from, because they called while I was at work and couldn't answer. Since I didn't recognize the area code I tried to call back & got a busy signal. When I googled the #, I saw all these posts that it's a spam call. What good is the do no call list if people can still call?
These calls are from Rachel at Card Services- automated voice- same voice no matter which # calls you-- to get you to sign up to insure a low rate of interest- they leave a mesesage on the machine if not picked up-- when I use #1 yes I want to talk to a live person I get one- they give their name-and ask how much your outstanding credit balance is-- when I say STOP calling me all that I get to say is Stop they hang up other numbers that call with the same message 510 246 8748 hang up when ask for live person and say STOP many more numbers these are the two latest- they must pass them around-- there must be a way to report all these and make them STOP
They left no message. Obviously an auto-dialer. That federal Do Not Call List is pathetic, because I'm getting tons of these calls lately.
The recording said it was 'you bank' calling to reduce my credit card rate. So i pressed 1 and then told the operator i was glad they called and that i wanted to dispute a merchant charge to my account. They himmed-haweed around and said they 'represent' my bank and after i kept insisiting on the CC despute they hund up. I hadnt had that much fun from a telemarketer in quite sometime!
