Yeah I got a call from them saying they have my resume. And that I should call back, I never did form what everyone else is saying. I looked them up on-line they are some kind of life insurance company.
CallerID shows this number but the person left a message about a resume asking to call him back at (610) 279-4801, said his name was Craig Silverton with American Income.
I just spoke with Craig. It's not a scam. However, they called out of the blue with no explanation as to what kind of business they are. He refused to tell me how they found my resume. He wanted to interview me immediately but I told him I needed to know more about the job and what my duties would be before I would agree to a meeting. American Income is located in Plymouth-Meeting, PA and sells benefits to labor unions. It is a commission only sales job, but not a W-9. I turned down the interview.
I also recieved a call from Craig Silverton or silvertein-- from the same number- said he saw my resume' and would like to speak to me-- the only place I have my info posted is snagajob.com not to sure if I want ot call it-- it's probably telemarketing. I also got an email from a American Life insurance company..not botherung with that one either.
I also received a hurried message from "Carl" who hung up so quickly the voicemail didn't capture the last digit of the telephone number, which (out of 10 possibilities) I figured out to be 610-279-1861. Thanks for your posts and saving me the time of returning the call.
Thanks for your post Ringo so I didnt waste time. I got an email (We Received Your Resume From Monster) "Hi, my name is Fred Hadayia and I am a State Director for American Income. I saw your resume on the internet and felt that I should contact you immediately. Our company currently has openings for several outstanding individuals like you. If you are an individual seeking a financially rewarding position with a company that is part of the Torchmark Corporation (TMK), a company that truly believes in honesty, integrity and trust, then I would like to speak with you. Please call my office at 610-279-4801 so we can schedule an interview".
I too just received a vm from Carl with American Income. He said he received my resume and has a few questions to ask me. First off...I never applied to American Income. He said to call him back at 610-279-1861, even though my caller id said 610-277-8832. This company sells Life ins. to unions. Not sure how he received my resume, but what I don't understand is how he got my home ph# in being that it is NOT listed on my resume...only my cell, and we have an un-listed home ph#. Really bizaar. Not interested is all I can say, and certainly not wasting my time contacting them.
I just received a call from a lady by the name of Kim, she stated she got my resume off of Monster. She was also rushing me in tomorrow morning at 9am for an interview for a management position but I had to ask her what company this was for. When a Human Resource department calls you for a job they introduce themselves and tell you where they are calling from. Not to mention an Hr department would not sound like a call center. These posts definitely helped me. Thanks everyone!
Thanks everybody! I was picking my brain trying to figure out the message and who I had sent my resume to. You have been a great help! I recently signed up with Career Builders and have been getting lots of "I've received your resume emails.
I just got a call from them a few minutes ago. They said that they have a few positions available, but didn't have specific job titles (just entry level, manager, or supervisory roles). I asked which position I am interviewing with and they said that I would meet with the Regional Manager who would find out information about me and decide where I would best fit. They said that they provide training for where they would put me, (if hired, I presume).I will probably call them back and cancel since I did something like this when I lived in Los Angeles. I went on the interview and met with a couple different people to find out more about me. I kept asking the interviewer which job I was interviewing for and they kept saying that they weren't sure which one quite yet. A day or two after the interview, I received a call saying they would like me back for a second interview. I asked which job it was for, but they were unable to tell me yet. I declined since it didn't make sense how I could be back for a second interview without knowing what job or what type of job I would be interviewing for.
