This is simply not true. Portfolio specializes in collecting old debts, and most of those debts are beyond the date that are eligible for a lawsuit. Also, even if you are sued by a devt collector it is a civil suit -- so no police are involved, you get a letter in the mail.
Funny thing. I kept getting calls for the person who had my number from 8 years ago (not my debt). I explained to that debt collector that I had recorded the last couple of calls telling them not to call me again. They must have immediately turned this over to Portfolio, as I never heard from that agency again. Now, I guess I need to record these idiots.
It's beyond the statue of limitations per State they can't collect crap. Received a call from these scum bags earlier I was already involved with a class action lawsuit with them for robo dialing. Apparently they learned nothing out of an $82 mil lawsuit they are now spoofing numbers using my area code lol yea like that's gonna fly by me another number to block.
