Last 5 of my SSN and DOB?I declined to provide the information and have yet to recieve a call (scheduled interview 30 minutes ago)The company "seems" on the up and up, but my gut tells me otherwise.we'll see, but asking for this type of information "up-front" is not doing them any favors in my book.

I told "Logan" that I had actually called the company that he was recruiting for and when I mentioned to him that they do not use recruiters at all, he gave me the same phone number as he was calling from with a different EXTENSION to verify that his story was "legit"! This is Pepsico we're talking about, do they really need recruiters!?

Hey just FYI we do in fact use recruiters for some positions and often post the job on our site too.

Recruiting is now a global endeavor. Employers don't out-source these tasks based on location, they choose contracting agencies that have the resources to meet the needs. It is not at all unusual to get a call from a recruiting agency across the country or across the globe. Of course, the location of the contract is something different. Make sure they know where you are located and your limits in terms of commute.

to who ever posted a reply on this thread stating that its not strange or out of line to just hand over or tell some one you get a random call from your personal information such as SS, bank account. marital status etc You are one idiotic dumb person without common sense. any one who gives out that information freely over the phone deserves to get every thing coming to them.. common sense people hello... when you go to a temporary agency for a position you meet face to face and interview and then you fill out the appropriate government forms there. so NO u are not loosing out on a job you are being scammed so all that read this beware and do NOT give out any personal information over the phone!

Dear,Recruiting agencies ask for SSN just to check if you have ever worked with a particular client recruiter is recruiting for. If you have worked wit that client then "are you eligible for re-hire?". even if you never worked with that particular client still SSN is needed as exp part from resume can be removed. Not all clients needs SSN. Some of them need last 4 digits of SSN. some of them need full SSN. And your SSN is fully safe and confidential. It is put in a confidential database as soon as recruiters receive it. Only hiring manager can access it. No one else can access it.Thanks,Recruiter,

I too have received a call from this number yesterday, two calls actually and again this morning. When I spoke to the rep he stated he was from Rose International. He barely spoke English and appeared like he may have been from India. He stated that he had a temp job extending three years working for AT&T in Arlington Heights IL (A SIDE NOTE: temp jobs don't last three years and AT&T does not have a call center in Arlington Heights IL). He was trying to get info from me quickly saying that the position would be filled soon. He also asked for my Social Security number which I found extremely odd and tipped me off to something not being quite right. I did NOT provide him with the information he requested. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. These scams really make me mad!
