Rose International, they called me today, for a job at my old company. It is a legitimate tech staffing agency.I do have experience with them as we have used their contractors/consultants on IT projects at my current job, which is at a very large publicly traded company. So if you do get a call or email from them, don't be afraid. :)Good luck you techie job hunters.

I agree I wouldn't give out my SS# either. When I've gone through staffing companies, the old employers will use unique identifiers (not your SS#) so your prospective employer can do a reference check on you. That said Rose Intl is a legitimate outsourcing company. It seems they are owned by Indians. Many tech firms that recruit american tech field workers are now Indians, so don't be put off by that. The important part for any staffing agency is that they have real clients and that they not have payroll "issues."

I received a call form a Rose International recruiter for what sounds like a great position with a reputable company that I am very familiar with. I will be calling the HR department of the company where the job is allegedly located to see if they indeed are familiar with Rose International, if both the recruiter and Rose International are legitimate and if the temp job proposed is legitimate. I will also ask them if they require the last 5 digits of my Social Security number, and the month and day of my birthday, in order to prevent duplicate resumes from competing recruiting agencies. If all of this is validated, then I will share my personal data with the recruiter. Either way, I will try to keep all of you posted as to what I learn.

You are correct...Rose International is a REAL company, it sounds like someone DID miss out on a job opportunity. :(

I too, worked for Rose, on a temporary contract. Nice recruiters, nice staff...weekly pay. Huge client base in Texas.

I understand that with an Indian accent, a recruiter may be hard to understand, however, some of them are not in TX and are on a different time zone. I've dealth with them, they have great contracts and ARE legitimate...and they welcome referrals. Also, calling after eight, for some of us is ok, especially if we can't take personal calls at work. If our resume is on a job board, and is public for recruiters to see...then it's nderstood, that the calls after eight will probably happen, especially if you've been applying for and computer or IT positions.

If Bank of America is on your resume and some of your experience matched what Rose is looking for, on behalf of BoA...this is why you were contacted, however, they wouldn't know if you have ever worked for them or if you qualify as a re-hire, unless they run the ssn through their system and BoA will eventually do the same.

Have any of you been given an offer letter by Rose International with a start date and after you quit your job, they pull the job from you?

Hang in there. Get a google account and google number you trash once employed. Here is a tip. If you check the company out and you can't get a phone number or they have the same one for every city they claim to be be careful. Here in DC the scams are many. Good luck:)

Well glad I did my research and came across some background information. In my dealings with employment agencies, they all have their established offices in the U.S. along with their respective phone numbers and area codes which actually correspond to the cities they are located in respectively.Never heard of an agency that has the same phone number listed for all their listed locations in the U.S. and that is the first red flag. I got called this morning in the early AM and I guess they forgot to take into account that I was on Pacific Standard Time out this way. Also the position they were telling me about I knew about prior from temp agency local to my area so that made me want to question them further. I did not send out an updated resume to them right away which invited an immediate callback and I told them I would be in contact with them and just gave them hell in two e-mails explaining what I found out about them up to demanding who they were in contact with out at the job site. There are a lot of online scams and there is always a danger apparently when using Career Builder or Monster etc. etc. Better safe than sorry when it comes compromising oneself and giving out personal info that could be used for ID theft. What is really comical is that they did seem to offer a $14.80/hr data entry position which seemed just too high for data entry when compared to an agency physically located that was offering $10.45/hr.Oh well figured I might pass on some more information and if it were me, I would not be doing any business with Rose Intl unless they could tell you who exactly they were in communication with at any of their job sites and that is just playing it smart.Regards.
