"wireless caller" on the caller ID. 34 pages of complaints, and this hasn't been shut down yet. The phone companies have the power to stop these calls, but they won't because they make money from the scammers, and from us when we buy caller ID, as well as a whole line of call blockers. Why stop?!Until we force the phone companies' hand with legislation (unfortunately), these calls will never stop.
Just got the same call re my computer...as soon as the woman stated why she was calling, I said "No thank you', blew my coach's whistle really loud into the phone and then hung up. I don't think shell be calling back.
We have been getting calls from this number for over a year ~ it stopped for awhile but now has started back up. Plus we get another one that say they are from the IRS. telephone number 917-387-4638 some times we get 5 or 6 call a day.from these two callers I am 71 years old and I have a hard time getting around. I have a lot of health issues and I am afraid of falling. I sure would love to stop these calls.
another call but this one I was able to answer, wanted to tell them to take my number off of their list, no onw answered got the beep and the computer saying Good Bye and call disconnected
Got a call from a woman with a thick Indian accent, asked for me by name, said she was from Windows, Microsoft and every time I get online my computer is transmitting viruses throughout the web. I played along, acted dumb and scared and when she thought she had me hooked, a male with a thick Indian accent took over and instructed me to log onto my computer, right click on the desk top and tell him what I saw. I continued to act frightened and confused and stumbled through his commands for about 15 minutes, I could tell he was getting frustrated. I couldn't take it anymore, started laughing, called him a *@#$%*& Idiot and told him I was running a MAC! I HATE SCAMMERS!!! Get a real job.
I got a phone call from this number, too! I fell for the scam and I was able to get my computer back up and running with the help from an IT person that my mother works with. He was able to put my computer back to factory condition. It's stupid that they're calling saying that there's a virus when you know that your computer is up-to-date with everything. I just don't pick up for numbers that I don't recognize. If it's important, they can leave a message.
Why don't you tell us what YOU are doing about it?? We always welcome good advice.
