"Congratulations" Good for you guys,we are also debt free for the last 20 years....no more credit cards EVER again for us....who needs them?.
Same [***], same people with an obvious Indian or Pakistani accent. Usually a male then his wife or girlfriend. They called yesterday from a different spoofed number and they had my name. They thought it would add credence to their validity. Today a voice message and if you hit "1" you will be directed to this same person. Never give any information. Governments won't due anything as I know these two voices from having many many phones calls from them over the past 3 or 4 years. Most times I just play along and tie them up on the phone for as long as I can. It truly pisses them off when you let them think you are looking for your credit card and then you come back and ask more stupid questions. The way I see it I stop them for a small period of time and then I drop the fact that I know who they are and then they get so pissed off. I figure eventually they would take me out of their data base and stop calling me. Yes and I realize that most of you out there don't have the time to do what I do. So it is up to you, have some fun or get pissed off. I prefer to have fun.
You can ignore them, you can block them, you can complain to the government, the police, blow whistles, swear, you can stand on your head and spin they will never stop calling you even if they never get a single answer from your phone. It makes no difference to them they are completely insane. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is he definition of insanity. They are right wing religious theoconservative nutcases who when they are in power in the US vote to defund Obamacare 57 times and they will vote another 50 times knowing it will achieve nothing. Oh yeah they are from the US probably Florida they just use Indian boiler room call centers to call you in Canada. They will call every phone number on the planet over and over and over again like rabid dogs foaming at the mouth expecting a different result with the exact same scam because they have no brains, and no originality.
Picked up call on Dec 13. They told me they could lower interest rates on my credit card and which one would I like to have lowered. When I asked how they can do this. They hung up.
Funny how the CRTC can track you using your phone number for just one little call but they can't seem to do it for crooks who are making tens of thousands of calls every day. Makes you wonder if their political bosses don't want them to stop because the political donations would also stop. Just wondering.
Just got a call from this #. Very good to see all these comments! I just won't answer any calls I don't recognize any more. There's really no need. If it's important, they'll leave a message.
Firstly - I always engage the caller.I'm retired and I am of the philosophy you want to waste my time with your BS, I'm going to waste your time. When I finally get a human on the line - I tell them I don't have a credit card. They will inevitably question that - to which I reply - how do you expect to sell me on something when your calling me a liar?Every second I can keep them engaged online - is another second where they can't scam someone else. And always ask for contact information where you can call them back.Keep asking questions until they give up and hang up.
If you block calls through your phone company it may cost you money. But you can block calls through your phone itself, assuming you have caller ID and you purchased your phone within the last 5 years. Hit save, then either add to phone book or call block. On my phone I can block up to 30 numbers. Check your manual/ instruction guide with your phone.
Finally got a live person but wouldn't give me their name, company or where they where calling from. Hung up when I suggested they where scammers.
