I gave to the Humane Society for years, but chose to stop for financial reasons. I have not answered any of the calls from this number as I do not pick up if I don't know who is calling. After reading this now I know who is calling. They really need to stop.
Just happened to look up that address on Google maps, and it looks like a building which hasn't been used in a really long time, It says L.A. WEEK or something like that on the building, but the picture was taken just last year......
I wasn't sure that the caller was HSUS, but after reading the above posts, I'm now sure of it. This caller hangs up on the second ring. They call about once a day. I used to give to HSUS, but after reading about the organization from HumanWatch.org I decided against it. I don't answer my phone anymore unless I recognize the caller-id info. I also have a call-blocker installed and block many callers including Humane Society. I used to get 10-15 thelemarketer calls a day. Now, I only get about 4-5. Some days I don't get any. The Call Blocker has brought me peace from telemarketers. The device cost a little over $100 and is well worth it.
We have always donated to the Humane Society and are currently monthly donors but these calls are driving us crazy. I am on the do not call registry but it doesn't seem to help. If I find out these are from the Humane Society or that they have provided my number to these people, our donations will cease! Not a great way to say thanks for the donation!
