They are involved with disaster relief, public education, advocating public policy and enforcement of existing laws against cruelty, in addition to providing mobile veterinary care. Their mission statement does not claim to donate to local animal shelters. I hope this helps.

Please note that the call may not actually be from the Humane Society of the United States. There are many scam calls pretending to be legitimate charities. They can even use fake caller ID numbers. I donate by mail only. Most legitimate charities will not make that many calls in one day unless they have used a fundraising organization. In that case, I never donate over the phone because I want my entire donation to go to the charity without giving the fundraisers a cut.

This number calls every other day but never leaves a message. Scammer! This is NOT a legit animal welfare organization. Don't be fooled!

Will never again donate to Humane Society!!!!!

Unfortunately, charities are exempt under "Do Not Call" Registry. This number has called me several times over the past two weeks.

This is not HSUS. THey call me too and just say this is "Humane Society". They are trying to get you to say "yes" when they ask for you by name. THIS IS A SCAM

I get a call from this number Monday thru Friday without fail. I don't have a phone connected to my landline, or I would be cussing people out! The No Call List apparently isn't taken seriously anymore! Stop calling!!

It's a NON-PROFIT-therefore they're not BOUND by the DNC. Maybe do some flipping RESEARCH!
