I do not know where this number is from, they are calling me and not leaving messages.
I received a phone from this number saying it was Paul, who was completely depressed and was seeking my help. He invented this story of entrepreneurship and a strange story. Who are they?
I was just on the phone talking to mu daughter-in-law and my phone kept beeping. I ignored it. When I finished my conversation I looked at who called me. I was the 661-380-3000 and 661-748-0240, the second number called me six time one right after another. This is [***]. We have a do not call list, for all the good it does.
This number stated calling today because I am having problems with my computer and it all resulted when I uninstalled some spyware that was unwanted. The spyware was supposed to prevent hackers and guess what, it only gave permission to someone to have control of my computer."get me once shame on you get me twice shame on me."
First let me tell you that you should NEVER Give ANY Personal information to someone calling you. 99% of the time it is a scam. If they tell you they are from a big company ask for the toll free number so you can be sure it really is the company, if they give you a phone number Search the number on Google or Bing or whatever search engine you use. You will probably find that the number is a scam line (like this Skype number is. Then call the ACTUAL number for the Company and report the number that called you along with the toll free number they provided to you.Now the important part: GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK!!Get the Credit Card you used to pay the $199. Call the Customer Service # on the back. Listen to the Options the Automated Prompts for something like: 'Report Fraudulent Charges' 'Dispute a Transaction'Or just plain ole' Customer Service. Once you have a person from your Credit Card Company on the phone tell them that you have been the victim of a Scam, explain how the person called you claiming to be an Employee of Microsoft (Don't say McHelp cause that sounds like McDonalds went into the Help Desk Business and not even remotely like a real company) telling you that your computer was being hacked. Give them any information you have on the Fake Company including phone numbers and emails/email addresses, websites. Tell them that they gained access to your computer remotely and may have all of your personal and financial information.I am assuming that you fell for the same scam that the others are describing. They will probably transfer you to the Fraud Department and they should close the current credit card and issue you a new card with a new number since crooks have your Credit Card Number. MAKE SURE that the info gets forwarded to the Fraud Dept even if they don't transfer you to them, and make sure you tell them you want the charges reversed. If you let the scam artists access your computer you should change the passwords to any important accounts, security codes too. If you do online Banking call your Bank and explain everything to them so they can change your account numbers & issue you new Credit/Debit Card(s). Call ALL Other Credit/Debit Cards that you have used on your computer and get new cards issued from them too.***VERY IMPORTANT*** Make Sure when Contacting ALL the Financial Institutions that you knowingly gave your information or have the information stored on your Computer for.....MAKE SURE THAT There are NO Other Unauthorized Charges!!!
I received an inaudible (male then female voice) message on Nov. 2 @ 12:59PM . The only thing I could understand from the male voice was knowledge. I couldn't understand anything from the female voice. Very strange call to say the least!
These flea bags called my elderly mother. Fortunately, when she gets a call like this, she knows to not give out any information and call me. At 88, my mom is on top of things (and I help her with that), but so many don't have that advantage. How sad these people are "out to get" others. Always BEWARE ! ! !
This unintelligible Indian (not the feather variety) or Pakistani told me he was from Windows. I told him I had windows, thank you very much, but he wittered on about a virus on my computer. I told him I was with the Scottish Taliban, so that shut him up. Two minutes later I get a call from New York (347) 618-8930. These people are scam merchants. I invited him to have sex and travel.......over and out!
