this number shows when calling from an i-pad

Got a call from number at 3:00am. No message was left but I could hear people talking in background.

Just received a call, she was stating that she worked with Birthright, and asked for my e-mail. I had a difficult time understanding her. She said she was going to send me information through e-mail, which she never did.

crazy, just a got a call from (661) 748-0240 but it was a turkish person who left a strange message.

The call I got from this number was a man who seemed to speak no English. I don't know what line he was trying to feed me, but as others have said, the connection was pretty bad.

I got two calls from this number this morning. The ID on each one was someone I knew (the same name each time), but I knew she didn't have a number in this area code. I didn't answer either call. How did they--whoever they are--access a name from my directory??

Someone called me using this generic Skype number at 4 in the morning. I didn't even hear the phone ring, and now it's blocked via Google Voice, so I have no idea what scam they were trying to pull. They left a minute-long message, but it was just random noise in the background.

I received four calls in a row from this number and 661-380-3000. The moron kept trying to talk and I kept telling him to not call again and to remove me from their list. He said NO. I just kept telling him over and over to remove me from their list and again he said no.That made me furious so I proceeded to ask him if he was mentally incapable of understanding I did not him to call again and got going from there. I ended with a couple ear splitting screams.

11/6/12: Received a call on my home phone from someone with a very heavy accent representing himself as being tech support for various Microsoft operating systems. I was unable to understand the name he gave for himself nor the name of the company (if he even stated it). The first call did not return a number on my caller ID. He stated the reason for his call was because it showed my computer was at risk because malicious files were accessing my computer. He told me to access my computer and perform a series of tasks using my keyboard: 1)Open the "run" box, type in "eventvwr"(this opened a Windows box), click "Windows Logs", then "Application". He said the results was a log of potentially harmful files that tried to or did have access to my computer and that my computer was at risk of crashing. 2)Open "run" box again, type in "cmd" - opened a DOS-looking box and told me to type in the command "assoc" which returned several lines, one of which he said had my unique "CLSID" which was given to me when I registered my computer. He was able to quote the CLSID in an attempt to prove his legitimacy. In the mean time I did a search on my computer and found out the CLSID was not something that is unique to myself and realized it was a scam. I hung up the phone. I immediately received a phone call from "Skype User 1-661-748-0240" and it was a different person from the same company. I told him that the web is reporting this type of call as a scam and he adamantly denied he was running a scam. In the initial call the rep said he was from the UK, this caller said the previous rep misspoke and should have said he was from the US and that they are actually located in Hawaii, he further stated, "Why would we call from the UK?" I confronted him about their claims for the "unique" CLSID and he said that I was correct in that the ID is not "unique" to me but other computers could have the same ID as well if they access the internet. He asked me how many computers I owned, I told him and that point the call was dropped on his end. Minutes later he called and left a message on my answering machine stating he was going to call back and to please answer the phone (oddly enough he didn't leave a number for me to call him). He called multiple times, I finally answered and he gave me his speech about how legitimate he is and told me how he can help me to remove the malicious files from my computer. I asked if this is something he could instruct me to do or if he had to have access to my computer. He said because of the number of files listed it would be better if he did it. He instructed me to open the "run" box again and to type in the following: www.ammyy.com. at which point I said this is a scam call and requested him to not call me again and hung up the phone. He called again one more time, he did not leave a message. I contacted Microsoft via instant message and reported the incident. The rep confirmed the call was a scam and to report it to the FTC.

My mother just got a call from this number and a kid was stating that it was her oldest grandson and he had been in an accident in CA and needed her help. My brother continued to question him and finally told him that he was going to call his mother and hung up. Be careful everyone this is totally a scam.
