I got a call from this number: 712-986-2525 on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at 9:04am (Central); i was busy and didnt pick up. They did not leave a message. These calls are so annoying--what is the purpose of them?
Just got a call and let it go to voicemail and there is nothing. Glad I look at this site to see what these numbers are all about.
They are The Berkley Group and Caribbean Cruise Line both out of Florida. The free cruise that is not free is to market a timeshare for The Berkley Group. They take every precaution to avoid being detected. Many names used and the websites do not have any location address. They try to get around violating TCPA with the survey, but it does not work because they are trying to sell something. TCPA still applies with surveys when it is robodialed, so they are sol. They tried this defense regarding a Fox News interview. The FTC is investigating them. In 2000 several Attorney Generals sued. They have called millions of people and now they are invading Canada. There are at least 4 class action lawsuits pending against them. People on here that are posting should report them to their state Attorney General, Florida Attorney General, FTC, FCC. These people need to be stopped and they will. There are other companies affiliated with them as well and they all will be held accountable for their violations under law. You are entitled to relief under the law.
My phone has an option under tools, reject calls. I just put that puppy in there! No more rings for them.
If I remember correctly, this was a scam. When this number originally called, they told me I won a cruise or something like that. I hung up on them. Since that moment, I added that number to my block list using the App called "Mr. Number". They called me again this morning, but my app immediately answered and hung up, which does not allow them the ability to leave a voicemail. Until this morning, I forgot about this number, so I googled it, and this forum came up. Now it's all coming back to me. It's a scam, folks. Don't answer.
I just got a call from that number but when I called back it says all circuits were busy. Guess time to make a complaint to the DNC list!
